About a week or so after I got out I showed my 214 to a municipal clerk who then entered in the Book of Veteran's Discharges. One photo copy into the book, I was given a little card that I keep in my wallet showing just where my discharge is, and another copy of the 214 where I keep in a very safe place at home. At times I wonder how many others can’t get a copy of their 214 because they don’t have it registered like I did.

Good luck on your paper work guy. That is something that you always gotta make sure you keep around. It's a good lesson for us younger guys but most of out records will be online by the time we get to where you are. No disrespect and welcome.
