Default 50th Sig Bn (Abn) Historical Information

I need to ask for some help folks. I'm working with the current CSM of the 50th Sig to update the unit history prior to the battalion reunion at the end of the month. He recently found that there was no record kept of the previous battalion commanders and sergeants major, not even in the XVIII Corps G-1. I'm trying to find out the names of the commanders and CSMs prior to 1982 and after 1994 and the approximate years that they served. I would appreciate any help athat ya'll can provide. Thanks.

No records kept? That seems sorta fucked up to me. To the best of my recollection here's what I got - Rob, RKShane, Sponge, etc. can probably confirm and offer more info. These dates are approximate...

    LTC Brian R. Hurley June 97 - 99
    LTC Tim L. Day 99-01?
    LTC Robert Burchelle 01-03?

    CSM Violette '97-'00?

Let me let my brain stew on this for a bit. I'll also check my personal records and see what I can come up with.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the info. CSM Pflieger was really surprised that not even Corps G-1 had the info. If some of the other old-timers can add any info from before the mid to late seventies, that would be great.

    Thanks again.

We appreciate your help with this almost four year old thread.

We'd also appreciate if you'd head on over to the introductions forum and post an introduction. It's our SOP.

Thom Tuckey was the BN Commander for the 50th Signal BN in 1990-91 During Desert Storm and somewhere around here I have an ARCOM with his Autograph on it.

I'm glad the Colonel came by, then. Hopefully he'll post an intro and stay around.

I am sure you already have the info on then 1SG Fred Zabitosky, former B Company 1SG during the early 70's. I believe the 74-76 time frame. He was awarded the MOH for actions in Laos while with MACV Studies and Observation Group.
