Riggers have a very thankless job. The above posts confirm this. Why is everyone quick to blame a rigger when something goes wrong, which by the way is about 99% jumper error? No one says 'Damn that was a good jump. Im going to find out who rigged my chute and thank them.'

    Oh shit....this thread revived.

Now I don't blame the riggers for what happened on my last jump where I was a towed jumper. It was just one of the dangers of the job; I do have issues with that asshole on the DZ who released a green smoke grenade signaling that the winds were okay when they were too high for us to go out the door.

Twists come from a very weak exit. Dont believe me? Watch the video posted on this sites main page, as it has very good examples of weak exits.

I am most grateful for all the excellent parachutes that were rigged by well trained riggers and I trusted in both as I was instructed.

Cutting all those chicken necks and sprinkling blood on my chutes before I jumped had nothing to do with it I am certain but hey, I felt more confident after each chicken sacrificed!
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value."

All I have to say is I have never had a bad jump due to anything a rigger did straight up! my bad jump were because of idiots who jump to soon and WAY to high of winds on the DZ. Second there is such thing as refusing to jump if you willingly rerouted your shit you can tell the jumpmaster at the ramp before you jump. I have jump with spec ops and you practically skip off the ramp its so slow. Try sprinting out the door with full CE in the damn red light with 40 ppl behind you. If that was the case then I can believe you had NO choice but that is not the case. Casa jumps are cake walk and NO ONE would have been pissed at you if they inspected your rig later, no article 15 BS you would have been in the right. Now you say safety first? You are on the frontline of safety as we all are and you owe that to everyone around you.
