    Question Internet Security Program

Ok folks, I am going to be purchasing an internet security/anti-virus program very soon. I've had Norton for the last few years and although it has (for the most part) run well, there have been a few frustrations here and there with them. I'm looking for feedback as to what program I should look at.

Try Avast Antivirus. I've been using it for a little less then a year and haven't had any issues with it. It is also free.

I have been using Norton for about 4 yrs, but I also have a XoftSpy anti spyware adware progrgam. Norton requires some fine tuning and some of their default settings are just a little too restrictive. A new year will be upon us soon, and I have other options. My Cable ISP has a scan & firewall, Windows XP-SP2 also has a scan & firewall, they are both free but I am not sure how well they will protect my puter. So at this point I don't know if I an going to stay with Norton, or go somewhere else.

I've heard of that - Best Buy pushes that program. How do you like it? Subscription costs?

You do realize that (good) virus makers know how to get around Norton?

There is no such thing as a totally secure anitvirus program, firewall, etc. That is why I update daily, separate myself from the Internet with a router, run a good firewall and have spyware/adware/virus protection. The key is a multilayered defense. Even that is all well and good but I bet I could hide a virus in some porn, get you to visit the link and infect you because you bypassed all of the security by requesting to download the virus/worm that was attached to the picture. Happens everyday.
