    Lightbulb Poser in the 10TH.

I have had many surgeries to fix my body. I can show you a scar that is about 1/4 inch wide and is about 10-12 inches long from my ass to the nearly high part of my spine.. (Estimate.)

My surgeries were on my S,L,C spine, and legs. It's been some years now (Since 2003 for the last surgery (Spinal Cord Implants)) and I can gaurantee that if you were hit by an RPG or even a 7.62 going in at an angle you would have a very distinguishable scar.

You know, I have forgotten many things that I was a part of in the Army. Some because I put away for good because of the sheer terror it brings back to me and some I just plain don't remember. I try to but can only give generalities.

One thing I do know is that you never forget that very moment you were hit or hurt in some fashion. You will remember the area you were in and the unit you were with. you will remember the one guy that got you out and put in a safe zone to save your life. He is my hero. I could have died but that one Soldier put me back in the hands of Jesus Christ. I was saved. This will last you a lifetime.

This is a true story brothers believe it or not. I was in North Chicago VA PTSD unit one time and the guys all came to me as soon as I hit the Unit and said, "Rocky you got to come check this guy out he claims to be from Charlie Rangers but he can't remember what platoon or what team he served in we think he has to be a wannbe." No one was really talking to this guy and was basically avoiding him. I went and talked to him. I asked all the right questions and he dropped some names but could not remember his Team number. I was Sgt-At-Arms for the Ranger Association at the time so I call the guys on the Board of Directors and had an investigation started. As it turns out the guy was for real. He had blocked everything out so much in his mind that he could not remember. After awhile on the PTSD unit and some eyemovement it started to come back to him and I put him into contact with some of his old team.

I agree with all that you guys are saying about never forgetting but I have to say there are exceptions and this was one of them. They are very few and far between however and most of those who are thought to be posers are. We call them wannabes took me a bit to figure out posers when I first came on this site haha!

I think part of what this guy is telling is the truth. I bet he was in the army, was 11C and was in the unit he claims. Hell he may even have been in the Stan. Probably was not wounded and definitely not retired. Hell just ask to see his ID card and see what his status is.

Default This guy is full of shit!

BULLSHIT!!!! He's Infantry!? If he came in as an 11C, he attended OSUT @ the Infantry Training Brigade. Point blank.

The only joe's that hit Basic Combat Training BDE(BCT) @ Benning are the non Infantry MOS's.

I pushed joe's @ ITB & BCTB from May 2001-May 2004 when this clown would have been @ Benning. I've only been off the trail for 2 years now, I know it hasn't changed! I've still got buddies over there.

This guy was full of shit from the get go!

Then he is also said he is "retired" from the Army and this dude is only 25 and put 2 years in???
Once again, bullshit!!! "retired?" How about discharged!? It's not like he's been out of the Army that long! He would know the terminology. If his wounds were so severe that he could no longer perform his duties as an 11C, IAW AR 600-60/AR 635-40 he would have done an "M/MRB" (MOS/Medical retention board!). To determine if he can be retained in another MOS or discharged do to physical disability. I've got 2 of my soldiers that where wounded last year in Iraq going through it right now....

He claimed he is going to the VA to have his "combat patch" presented to him, like it was going to be a ceremony

This is pretty suspect too! I know my guys got their Purple Hearts and sometimes other medals while laid up in Landstuhl or other hospitals. But I've never heard of a Combat Patch/CIB ceremony outside of the theatre of operations. Especially one held by the VA!
If he was laid up in the hospital while his unit was getting their CIB's pinned,(being awarded their combat patch) too bad, he missed the boat.

Sorry guys, I know this thread is close to 6 months old. I guess I never noticed it before. However, being a former Drill Sergeant and reading about this guys bullshit, I just wanted to add my 2 cent.

Even worse, I got REAL SOLDIERS working for me with REAL SCARS from REAL WOUNDS! from REAL RPG's and REAL IED's. I've got soldiers who where wounded while I was on the ground in Iraq this time last year. I see these young kids struggling with the pain, or fighting these MMRB's so they can stay in and continue to serve their country. These kids know the brigade is heading back shortly and they're fighting to stay in and go back again.

Then you read about some bar room commando sitting on a stool telling war stories and it just strikes a nerve.

The old school green ID cards are still issued to joe's going through BCT/ITB @ Benning. They get their CAC card after graduation.

Cost saving measure I guess, so they don't waste money on the high speed circuit chip "Common Access Card", and then the little fucker washes out of basic and it was all a waste.

Most likely a security measure too, seeing as that the CAC card is being used to to access secure portions of AKO, allow physical access to secure areas, and permit entry into DoD's computer networks.

I thought those things had been obsolete for years until we started having joe's show up from basic training with them.

I'll bet this fucker is some turd who was @ Benning in BCT or ITB and washed out on an ELS/EPTS! His Drill Sergeant probably never policed up the fuckers ID card when he booted him out the door.

Probably repeating stories he over heard one of his Drill Sergeants telling or something.

This is most likely a dead issue with you, but if you're still dealing with this clown, You've got my 200% money back guarantee that he's a FOS poser!

I am Medically Retired..my ID Card is a bluish Grey color..the first was Grey. I think they are beginning to issue the CAC cards to retirees, not sure though. 100% DAV are issued the red ID cards , through the VA (not by the VA) if they are not medically retired from a service branch.

My legs and face look like the back side of a Texas road map...and all that happened almost 40 years ago.

First time back to the site in a long while, and this issue is probably dead I'm sure, but the green cards are pretty much issued to ROTC cadets and some non-activated reserve personnel (and apparantly to initial entry trainees). It actually says Army Reserve on it. It is NOT for retired personnel.

On a side note, having one of those non-scanning green biotches is great fun at 0100 trying to get back on post in Korea... yes, it's a real ID... no, I'm a cadet... you can stop trying to scan it, it won't work, etc.
