    Default The Dale Peters Case

So to kick this thing off, Staylor101st is a Mod at Mil.com where apparently this Dale thing started. Staylor, fire away with your questions/comments and the folks will be able to better present you with what you need.

Well to start, has anyone been able to confirm if he was ever assigned to the 3rd/506th Infantry during 1967-68? I have looked at many web site and can't fine his name no where. He claims to know a guy I worked with at Campbell, when I asked about this guy the subject changed pretty quick. And whats all this about now he has 2 sons serving with the 101st , one lost a leg to an IED, and the other one is a pathfinder? Now about the sons, he said a year ago he had a son serving with the 101st, and just the other day I hear of this second son. I know when I was at Campbell the pathfinders were all in my company 6/101st Avn Regt. Now I here they have moved from 6th to the 4/101Avn Regt. Dale says his son is in a Infantry unit at Campbell.

I will be heading back from Virginia tommorow back to Texas, so I will keep track of all replies. If he is a poser his ass will be gone.

If he proves to be, as seems likely, a poser...do not shake him loose until there is enough information to really nail him to the wall. Things such as his home address are necessary. I'm sure you all must realize both the potentialities involved with this bust and their consequences. We can't fumble this one.

    From his posts and profile.

He served with 3/506th Recon Rangers 68-69 was wounded and spent time at Walter Reed and Ft. Meade until 71 or 72 when he was medically discharged.

He repeatedly references having been with the 3/506th Recon 101st. There is a thread including posts between him and the daughter of a VN veteran, it's been seen by members of the 506th VN and described as pure BS. Dale said he was from Hawaii, the LRRPs remember two volunteers from Hawaii in 69, one was KIA the other is accounted for.

Through email contact I've had with a VN LRRP he replied they could find no record of Dale having been in the 3/506th and by replies from six team members and a platoon Sergeant that were in VN all through 69, no one remembers Dale. They state their records are incomplete, but highly doubt Dale was ever in their unit.

I've seen Dales name and email on one Currahee web site but the list can be joined by anyone posting to it.

Using the military locater there is only one Dale P Peters E-7 and he is listed from mil.com not DoD. There is one Patrick Peters E-5 with a HOR of Illinois with the National Guard he's a 54B Chemical Operations Specialist. There is no DoD listed Mike Peters but 26 Michaels from Illinois. How complete or well updated the military locater is I don’t know.

The information I have seen Dale post could have been gleaned from any of the Currahee sites, there is a post he refers to LZ English and operating in the 173rd AO, but the information is available on at least two Currahee web sites. He’s posted to others how to use google to find 3/506th LRRP web sites. Some posts seem like parroting of things posted to him.

However, combined with his high number of posts, posts regarding veterans support and the amount of veterans he's posted back and forth to over a year or so, I decided to hold back until sure. Also he's posted he's been in a hospital and medicated. I've emailed him with mild questions but he's so far declined to reply.

I've tracked his name and email dales333@hotmail with google and yahoo. He's known to be from Illinois. He's a member of Illinois Veterans for Progress and his name is associated with the Illinois Veterans for Democracy. There are a number of communications with Illinois news, blogs and endorsements to political candidates that I believe are his. I make the connection by name, email, writing style or combination of.

His posts indicate he has three sons. One son murdered in 87. Two sons serving with the 101st and deployed at the same time, they're both Pathfinders. One joined ahead of the other, no dates for enlistment. Patrick is an E-5 and recently was wounded by IED losing a leg. Either one son was wounded (leg again) earlier, and wounded again or both have had leg wounds by IED. Mike is supposedly in Iraq at this time.

We were given the APO address that Dale sent out as for his son. It's an AP address meaning Pacific and tracked to Osan AFB Korea.

The address given for Walter Reed is said to have been a non-existant wing, contacts at Walter Reed were said to have no patient named Patrick Peters from the 101st. I didn't verify this.

Dale has posted he’s a Patriot Guards rider but I haven’t contacted them. He’s also posted he was in an accident with his bike and is in the hospital now with a leg injury.

This is the best timeline I could compile on posts about his sons.

04 Jun 2005 - One son is in Iraq.

15 Jun 2005 - Second son is finishing BAC, orders to 101st.

19 Jun 2005 - Both sons are “in country” one pathfinder one 101st.

21 Jun 2005 - One son returns from the “other war”.

02 Jul 2005 - One son gets married.

17 Jul 2005 - Son returned to “towel head land”.

22 Jul 2005 - Sons are in both “war zones” both are pathfinders one on first tour the other on his second tour.

04 Dec 2005 - A post by Dale states indicates his Aunts Grandson and one of his (Dales) sons was awarded Silver Star? Another post same day…

“Dear Dale----Our Grandson Josh was awarded the Silver on May5th at Ft Hood. We were fortunate to attend the ceremony. He earlier had won the Bronze Star from action from his first Tour.As you know since he calls you he is returning to Iraq before Christmas. The rest of this letter is private. Now here what he said to me in his call. Why is the press saying we hear what going on at home.We do our job and take care of the guys to the right and left of us.Now for the email from my son in Iraq dad I don't get it things are going good here.Yes there is people dieing but that's part of war.Tell the people at home we are winning here .Its hard but we will win this then come home.By the way both sons are in Iraq.My pride goes unsaid I don't have to say a word they do the talking in thier messages. My one son has the bronze,my other has two purple Hearts. So tell me how the troops are being infected. Airborne”

18 Dec 2005 - Both sons in Iraq.

20 Dec 2005 - Son called coming home in January.

20 Dec 2005 - Son getting married in April.

26 Dec 2005 - Sons home for two weeks R&R, son was wounded, fragments in leg from an IED.

11 Jan 2006 - First mention a son had lost a leg by IED.

21 Jan 2006 - Dale mentions he is sitting in a hospital.

22 Jan 2006 - Son is visiting with girlfriend.

26 Feb 2006 - The Walter Reed post regarding son Patrick. Another post indicating the other son Mike will redeploy.

    Posted Sun 12 March 2006 22:08
My son got discharged med 100$ and is home with his new leg.But the best part he is got his head on right
By the way, in his posts he almost never indicates by name which son he's posting about.

Dale may be a VN Vet with problems, he may be medicated or both. The bottom line is his posts and remarks about himself and his sons are questionable. It’d be disappointing to verify he’s a poser, but it’s wrong to honest veterans of that war to let this slide.

It would be in his best interests and simpler to resolve this by email if he’s the real deal.

sf11b, Holy Fucking shit brother that is outfuckingstanding posting right there.

On another note. Nelly has forwarded me all the emails that Dale has sent to her. One of them is apparently one of the sons sending her an email thank her for everything she has done and state that he was a Sgt om the 101st. ALSO there couple pictures sent of the son. In BDU's "green" not desert and he is wearing a maroon beret I can't tell the flash but it looks green and yellow. Someone give me an email address to forward them to and then they can be posted for all to see. For somereason I am having a hard time posting the pics.

Alright dumbass, I sent ALL the emails to you. As I was forwarding them to you I saw one that I didn't see before. Apparently in the picture it is his son in Walter Reed shaking hands with GW. The funny thing is he insists that that picture NOT to be posted on mil.com. He didn't want anyone else seeing it. Don't know about you but if the President was shaking my sons hand in that situation I wouldn't be ashamed for it to be seen. That's just me I guess.

There is always the possibility that someone else may also claim the Soldier as his or her son. Such a situation may well prove embarrassing for Mr. Peters.

Am I serious? Those are exactly what was in the emails to Nelly from Dale and the pictures he attached and referred to. Skyshark can verify.

Take a look at this link. It shows the REAL identity of the person shaking hands with the President and the news article. SF found it. Now it makes sense why he didn't want the photo posted on Mil.com
