Default The Paratroopers St. Michael Prayer

    The Paratroopers St. Michael Prayer

Lord God, hear my call, as through the sky I fall.
Satan you once were cast from here.
My static line have hooked to hold,
and then my chute to make unfold.

    Suspension lines untangled be
    and open my canopy.
From other jumpers float me clear,
    As safely down I persevere.

On angels wings, I hit the ground.
My Father's favor, I have found.
In thanks, St. Michael I do pray.
For God has helped me--ALL THE WAY.

Really? 13 years, and this is the first time I've seen it...No, probably too many F-A-H's, I've probably just forgotten it.

Here are two more that I have had for a while:

    A PARATROOPER'S PRAYER

Valiant St. Michael, hear my call,
As through the sky I swiftly fall,
You who hurled Satan far below,
Aid me to conquer every foe.

My static line keep firm to endure,
My risers' even flow make sure,
    My suspension lines untangled be,
    My deployment bag hold steadily.

As Angel's wings my chute smooth be,
From other jumpers keep me free.

Help, St. Michael, this sky ranger
To make a landing safe from danger
Soft and safe to land - and then
Do you thank God for me. AMEN

OUR LADY QUEEN OF THE ANGELS
    DEFEND US IN COMBAT

    Heavenly father, hear my call,
For through the sky I will soon fall.
Stand up, hook up, shuffle to the door,
I pray for your will, nothing less, nothing more.
One thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four...
My canopy fill 'fore I count any more.
Give me courage, in the midst of my fear,
to enjoy your world's beauty from way up here.
From jumpers and obstacles float me clear,
and safely to the drop zone help me steer.
Feet 'n knees together, preparing myself to land,
never more aware that I'm secure within your hand.
Guide and help me lord, as I get quickly to my feet,
to conquer every obstacle 'til the mission is complete.
In our Lord's name I shall forever pray,
'cause I'm "AIRBORNE" and "PRAYER BORNE" GERONIMO!!!
    AMEN
    Got mildot?

What separates them from the rest
    These men with silver wings
    Paratroopers from the sky above
    In whom devotion springs
    What spirit so unites them
    In brotherhood they say
    Their answer loud and clear,
    "Airborne All The Way"

These are the men of danger
As in open door they stand
    With static line above them
    And ripcord in their hand
    While earthbound they are falling
    A silent prayer they say
    "Lord be with us forever,
    Airborne All The Way"

One day they'll make their final jump
Saint Mike will tap them out
The good Lord will be waiting
He knows what they are about
    And answering in cadence,
    He'll hear the Paratroopers say
"We're glad to be aboard, Sir,
    Airborne All The Way"

Nice ones. I will keep those ones with me.

    1. Always Look before you slip.
    2. Always slip in the opposite direction of fellow jumpers to avoid collisions.
    3. The lower jumper always has the right of way.

Do the still have the St. Michaels Association at Bragg. When I was there Father Whalen used to run with us. It was always a good time seeing cadence callers trying to call clean cadences because the post chaplan was running with us

    The Paratroopers Prayer" (French)
    "Priere des Parachutistes"

God, give me what you have left
Give what no one else ever requests
I am not asking you for rest, or tranquillity
Neither that of the soul, nor the body
I am not asking for wealth, nor success, or even health
You are asked for all of these so often
That you must have none left.
Give me, God, what you have left
Give me what no one else wants
    I seek insecurity and disquiet
    I seek torment and combat
And God, give them to me indefinitely
That I am sure to have them always
Because I won't always have the courage to ask you.
Give me, God, what you have left
Give me what others don't want
But also give me courage, strength and faith

-Translation of a part of "Priere des Parachutistes"
Written by Andre Zirnheld, Para Officer,
KIA in Lybia on July, 17th 1942...
