yes thats the reason I didn't sended it yet. I am sure it would give him a blast. They love themeboxes and I thought about "Octoberfest in a Box" with tons of nonalcoholig beer, "Volksmusik" and Lederhosen a Picturebook about Germany in German Language and a Dictonary (so they can do something useful while they are over there, it's evil but no one ever said I'm a nice Angel)

@Airbrn: When I drove to my unofficials place in Frankfurt I met a German Soldier that had his homecoming from Afghanistan. I talked to him. It was a great experience to see the view of our own guys. You never hear something about them wich is very sad. Most Germans aren't interested in what they do, some of them even think that the "Bundeswehr" is a bunch of idiots that can't accomplish something. That they sit around all day long and do nothing but drinking beer and having parties.. it's sad. They never hear "Thank you for your Service" I am pretty sure he heard it the first time in his life, but I said it to him. When he left the train he gave a hug to me. That was moving.

The Schuetzenschnur :D Yes, I know about that, it was confusing to see Americans with it on Regimental ball, first I thought "Huh? Where are all the Germans coming from?"

I got the "official soldier" thing, but I didn't know what you meant by just "official". Now I get it. And where did you explain what a fool's hat is?

Alcohol-free beer is fine for Iraq, they sell it in the PX every now and then, when they can get it. If you're going to send it though, package it VERY CAREFULLY. Packages can get very beat up on their way to their destination.

I'd use plastic bottles...have to figure out how to send them that they do not explode because they get beat up...

Well we are not allowed to send alcohol or pornography, I don't have to put labels on the packages. It's weird that you have to fill out forms in the States but not in Germany ;)

I just don't want to get them into trouble.. don't know if they controll the packages.

But that is just my opinion, you use yours.
It seems like you have a good head on your shoulders.

Tuna is right by saying you can get Fake Beer at the PX...

I won't advocate anyone breaking the rules, no sir, not me- but if I were a soldier who received care packages, and someone had the intention o sending me porn, I would ask them to first let me know it was on the way, and do the following-

    1) DVDs should be put in a case from an acceptable movie.
    2) Magazines should be in a stack, with a good magazine on the top and the bottom, and wrapped tighly in Saran Wrap or something.

Chances are they aren't going to get into the package, and only a true asshole of a CO would make his guys give up their whacking material. It's one of the few rules in the military that it's acceptable to break.
