    Default introduction

Hello to the forum. I discovered this awesome forum while on ar-15.com. I was a leg MP from 1976 to 1979, the last half of that was with V Corps in Germany. My son is a firstie at West Point, will graduate on May 27th. I had the privilage of observing him make four of his five jumps at BAC last summer. I am immensely proud of my son the paratrooper! He has branched infantry, and intends to attend ranger school. A copy of the paratrooper's prayer is on the wall of my barber shop, along with a poster of a stick of combat rigged paratroopers with the signatures of the members of the official party that presided over my son's graduation from basic airborne school. I was so proud to be invited, along with all other former soldiers present, to recite the soldier's creed with the graduating students, as part of the solemn ceremony. My son is a fourth-generation soldier, the first in our family to be commissioned, and the first to be airborne!

Welcome and thank you for your service, you have a proud family tradition. Congratulations to your son for both graduating from West Point and for earning his silver wings. Tell his cherry ass to jump over here. 8)
BTW, if your son is the first to be commissioned, what's with the "lt" in your name? Don't forget to grab yourself an avatar. You can either pick one from one of the galleries or upload one of your own. If you have one that you would like to have but cannot find it, let me know and I'll hook you up.

Your avatar is the image that shows up under your name. The avatar controls are in your profile which you can access via the menubar at the top of the page. You can upload a picture that you have on your computer, as long as it meets the size requirements or you can pick one from the galleries (also in your profile). Your third option is to figure out what you want and I'll find it for you.

Welcome to the DZ! You have every right to be extremely proud, both of your own honorabe service and that of your very excellent Son. Congratulations!

Welcome to the dark side DDZ. Thanks for you service and congrats to your Son. None of my business but just curious, how come MP to Barber instead of something in the LEO field?

    recon,

I did 20 years as a uniformed patrol officer, the bad guys kept getting younger, and I kept getting older, so I decided to take up the trade, which I have always had an interest in. Guys on active duty don't pay for haircuts at my shop, either. I have been privilaged to do haircuts on guys going for promotion boards, soldier of the month boards, deployments to several countries, and I am sorry to report, men who had to serve on burial details. This is my service. You don't stop being a soldier just because you don't wear the uniform anymore.
