    Although... I do suggest you fully think out any temptation to get a tattoo without doing your homework and research... I hate those people who go out and get a Mickey Mouse tattooed on themselves because at the time they think it was cute... don't get something you'll regret later...

    Since going in the Army in 75' I have been thinking of getting one. Ether I didn't have the time when I had the money or the other way around. So I guess for my 50th birthday I'll get one. Just a pair of Jump Wings on my left arm. The wife will ask me what the hell I am thinking, so I'll just tell her to blow me or shut up. Then I won't have to hear another word (one way or the other).

    Somehow I missed this thread. Cool tat Joe. Does the green lantern symbol have any significance?

    Some nice tats, guys.

    I got one, for me. the chinese character Tao (the way or path) on my chest. Not large and not visible even with only a tank on. Kind of a reminder for me every morning and night.

    And I totally agree with ShortBusDriver82's comment about thinking before you get inked. I think tats are great, but not so much if they aren't meaningful in some way.
    If I am not here I am almost certainly on one of my forums: www.afterseppuku.com and www.fotofantix.com

    hahahaha!! Just found this ->

    I totally agree. I've 7 at the moment and am having #8 scratched next month. Not one hasn't had significant meaning in my life.

    All these years and the places I've been, all the kids I hauled down to the tattoo parlors and helped em pick out their tat, all the sleeves I've seen drawn, and to this day I have nothing on me. Oh yeah. I got a black dot tattoo on my right calf but that's another story. Pencil lead don't fade away real quick.

    Funny you mention pencil lead Bell. When I was in the 3rd grade (or thereabouts) I got stabbed in the back with a pencil and the lead broke off and lived in my back until last year. I could feel the bump and see the black mark on my back but never gave a shit. Over the years the bump slowly got bigger (I assume from the tissue that grew around the lead) until last year I finally got irritated and wanted it removed. I had my wife take a knife and dig it out of my back. She protested greatly at first because she didn't want to hurt me - but I'll be damned if I was going to pay a doctor to do it. Finally I convinced her to do it. When she was done I looked at a little chunk of lead that had tissue stuck to it. Ah, fun times. Ok, enough of the - back to your regularly scheduled tattoo thread.
