IMO, the #1 rule for getting a tattoo is to get something that has meaning. After all, it's with you for the rest of your life. Look at Skyshark for example, and his dumbass Cardinals logo he's gonna get. Heh.

Nowadays, a good tattoo artist can cover or transform an old tattoo into something really cool and you'll never be able to tell the old one was there. I would think about things that have significance to you. Don't think about it as something to cover up your old one with, or you could end up in the same boat. Just think about if you were getting a tattoo for the first time what you'd want. Then see if it's feasible to be used to cover up your "80s hair band" tat.

    Oh Skyshark... bless your heart.

My tat started out really as a novelty thing...now I'm thinking shit...I'm going to have this on me forever. I've thought seriously about something patriotic, to honor my brother and my father at the same time, but I don't want anything that's gonna look cheesy, or appear disrespectful because I've never served.

In all seriousness, a picture would probably be needed to get an idea of how it could be covered up.
To be perfectly honest it looks like shit. I was young, drunk and let an amateur do it, which I now regret a LOT. I've been planning on getting it repaired since I got it...it's small, only takes up about a 3x2" space. I just didn't wanna get anything cheesy or cliche to take its place.
Well, if you do not want something cheesy, then definitely steer clear of Redfalcon!

    Thanks AW :)
I thought of getting a flag but haven't found the design I want. My father was a tailgunner in WW2, so I am thinking about getting a sketch of his plane...I don't know how hard it would be to find someone who could do a good job though.

Big Sis, just a thought before you get to working on your tat. Have you had any babies or are you done having babies? I ask because I have seen many jacked up tattooes on mamas due to stretch marks.

For the record, I have no tats.

Amazing red "x" tatoos. Are they jail house or professionally done?
