Default Ivan's Introduction - This is how it's done!

    Hello,

My name is Ivan I am a DEP for 11x. My ship date is 20060117. Going into MEPS I intended to get Airborne in my contract but I was fed their line of bull. I wish I had found this site earlier. I really want to be a Paratrooper and I would really appreciate some advice on how to better my chances of getting Airborne in the future or during OSUT.

My goals are to be a Paratrooper and later become a Ranger (if a RIP slot opens during OSUT I will take it).

    I am 5'10 and 145lbs.
    My PT consists of,
    4 miles (never timed).
    65 sit ups 2 mins.
    50 push ups 2 mins.

Good intro Depper. It is indeed a shame that you didnt find this site or one of the others that are on the net prior to you signing your papers. I know whats its like to not get what you want at MEPS. I was in the same boat and had to reenlist to get Airborne enroute to an airborne assignment.

Do hard PT from now on until you ship out. Take your training seriously as you will most likely deploy with your first duty station.

    Merry xmas......

Jay... you're a homo .... thanks for the gift....

New guy... yea you, turtledick.... keep up with the PT, because it is by far one of the most important things you can do right now.... if I remember correctly, from my day, they were allowing volunteers for BAC and then there were slots opening up for RIP during BAC.... keep your chin up and if you don't get what you want... big fucking deal, no one really gets what they want... you should just concentrate on being the best grunt you can be....

Now do some fucking push-ups for fucking up your contract.... If you have any questions don't be too afraid to ask, but search to make sure it hasn't been answered before....

Welcome to the DZ. Merry Christmas...now do PT!

PT, PT, PT...and some more PT. That's all you need worry about at this point. Be the best damned 11 series Soldier you can be and the goodies will become available in time. Start becoming hard in your mind. If people don't think you are fucking insane, you aren't trying hard enough. Like ItalyJumper has previously stated, you are likely to find yourself in a fairly hostile environment from your first duty station so prepare your mind and body for it.

He is absolutely right. While nothing is guaranteed, there is a chance that you might get a slot for Jump School. It depends on so many factors that are way above your level and my pay grade. Just be motivated and hope for the best

Welcome dude. Do you know anyone who is considering joining? If so, make sure they fucking talk to somebody BESIDES their recruiter BEFORE they sign their contract. You may be fucked, but you can help others from being fucked. I think you may have the best intro for the DEPS yet here. Glad you found us. Merry Christmas.

You will impress the hell out of everyone and improve your chances of BAC and RIP by MAXING your PT scores.

Your scores right now are good enough to complete OSUT and may get you thru BAC, but by the time you would get to RIP you will need to raise your game so you are not sucking donkey balls at RIP during PT.

Ever day between now and the time you leave, work on improving your PT scores and keeping a good positive attitude and you may get your dream shot kid! Good luck to you!

    Welcome to AP.org!

Welcome, Ivan! Thank you for stepping up to serve our nation.

Pay attention to these men. They are the best help you could ever hope for if you're serious about getting to your goals. The rest comes from you.
