Army Retiree and Veteran Award Inquiries

Requests for issuance or replacement of military service medals, decorations, and awards for veteran's or retiree's should be submitted per the following:
SERVICE PRIOR TO 1 OCTOBER 2002: Forward requests to the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) in St. Louis, MO. The NPRC will verify the awards to that the veteran/retiree is authorized and will forward the request for for issuance of the medals. Requests submitted to NPRC should include a copy of the veteran's/retiree's separation or discharge paperwork and any other supporting documentation to substantiate request. Unfortunately, due to the large volume of correspondence received the requestor should allow a reasonable period of time for NPRC to research and respond to the request. The NPRC's address is National Personnel Records Center, Attention: Army Reference Branch, 9700 Page Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63132-5100.

SERVICE AFTER 1 OCTOBER 2002: Forward requests to U.S. Army Human Resources Command - St. Louis. Just checking, but I think I'm pretty much F'd here. When I was clearing post I could not find the orders for my GCM, therefore it was not added to my DD214. I had looked on AKO and the packet I got from the PAC office, but couldn't find it. Am I correct in assuming that it is pretty much lost forever?
