A Buddy of Mine Died Thursday.
His sister told me the news around 7:00 PM Eastern Time.
His name was Carl Allen. Once Upon a Time he was a member of the 1st Cavalry Division. So was I. He was with it when it was in Viet Nam. I joined it in 1976. I used to joke that about the time he left it I joined it.
His collection of firearms might have been the envy of many here. He not only had an AR15, he had a few others like the TEC-9. When I got my M16A1 out for a little Rock & Roll we'd often get his AR's upper and swap the Bolt Carrier for a third upper.
I knew he was sick, but I never knew how sick.
I really hate going to funerals.
