Moving to Samoa is getting to sound like a pretty darn good idea.

...George W, and Bill too. They were here at the embassy for a little while yesterday. They seemed cheerful, but I couldn't get over how old they looked. My G.Uncle wasa jet jock in Vietnam, and he described himself as being all used up like a squeezed lemon. That's how they struck me, like squeezed lemons. Eight years is a long time to carry that burden! They were introduced, came up to a makeshift podium right in front of us, smiling and looking at each other like "Who's goin' first". President Bush stepped up and once we quieted down he paused, smiled, and said "Well turns out retirement is pretty cool! (we all laughed, and he turned serious) You know I don't miss politics...but I do miss getting to stand and speak to men and women in uniform.." So he said thanks to everyone. Then he was joking around formally introducing President Clinton: "That guy over there is #42, I'm just #43! But I'm having a great time travelling with 43..." etc.
For anyone that is interested about what President Clinton spoke about, he was saying how improtant is was for us to help the Haitian people get a new start, and bless them by helping rebuild their lives. He also mentioned that Hillary and himself had first visited Haiti together 30 (or 35?) years ago. He was very deliberate and thoughtful in his words, almost as if he was gunning for an Academy Award...however I will say he genuinely looked and sounded very sincere. Anyway, by this time I wasn't really listening to him, I was trying to determine the MPCOA for President Bush and come up with a plan to work myself in there! Which I did. I was glad to have met him, I didn't want to go to my grave someday thinking that the most (in)famous person I'd ever seen in person was Saddam Hussein!!!!![]()
BTW, to be honest I didn't get a picture with either of them. When you meet these kind of people in a crowd you are lucky to get 10 seconds of their time. I took pictures of my goofy friend with both Presidents on his camera. I had decided if I had a choice, I would try and get my lucky hat signed instead. I just felt it was a little more personal than a picture with 8 other idiots trying to squeeze in. Besides, I know what I look like already, and I know what he looks like! Anyway, it was looking like the crow was gonna keep me and my buddy away. I just raised my hand with my hat in the air from about 5 or 6 feet away, and started waving that American flag. Sure enough, G.W. saw it and I could see his eyes trace down to mine, and he just had this look of understanding and told me to come over there. And that was that. A few moments later a nice Air Force Captain asked if I would like to pass my hat over to Bill...I thought 'eh why not, since they are both here together anyway'. And he signed it....to the left of W's sig!!! Okay sorry for rambling, it was pretty cool. I am adding pics to my profile album
