Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I seem to recall reading once of a study that determined the emotional maturity plateaus while in school, i.e. 30 year old brand new Ph.D's were not significantly more mature than 22 year old BA Grads.
Further, the study cited that significant emotional gains do not occur again until people become parents.
I wish I could find the link, not only was it fascinating, it completely explained my sister-in-law....
