Default "JODY" cadence in the Military.

I saw a reference to "Jody" on another thread. There was and probably still is a lot cadence with "Jody" in the Military
I can remember running in cadence all over Ft Bragg..... And in Korea, Our Recon Plt began running every morning in cadence when me and another Paratrooper from the 101st were made Squad Ldrs. The Battalion CO loved that stuff and would stand outside the Battalion HQ and watch us go by. We would lower the Plt Guidon and give him an "Eyes Right" Soon he had the Tank Plts running in cadence. Man did they hate our guts for starting it.
I remember a song we sang in cadence
"Around her neck she wore and Yellow ribbon"'
"She wore in the spring time and in the month of May"
"Ask her why the hell she wears it"
"She wears it for her Recon Soldier far far away"
    "Far Away - Far Away"
"She wears it for her Recon Soldier far far away"
Holy crap, does that bring back some memories.

The hippo is unpredictable and aggressive with old scars and fresh, deep wounds providing signs of daily fights that are accompanied by much bellowing, neighing and snorting.

Loved Jody calls - as early as the 80s we were starting to catch if for some of my favorite cadence - we couldn't call "Hey Babaribba" until we were past McKellar's lest we offend someone.

Was it just me or is it a strange thing the video is labeled "US Army Cadence" while showing a pic of Marines? Or has the uniform changed that much?

I love military cadences. I haven't heard some of these. Thanks for sharing Sir.

Our First Sergeant was feeling mean
    Somebody pissed in his canteen\
All the sergeants around his desk
Had a leg lieutenant in the leaning rest

Look to my left and what do I see?
Nasty ol' leg looking straight at me.
He can't make it, no siree,
He can't be Airborne like me

Two kind of people I can't stand
    It's a bowl-legged woman and a straight-legged man
If I was the President and had my way,
'Wouldn't be a leg in the Army today!

    How many remember this?

Mama told Sally not to go downtown
Too many paratroopers hanging around... (and on...)

Yeah man. They definitely ring a bell.

    Remember this one?

Momma told Sally don't go to town
    Too many Paratroopers hanging around,
Sally got the ass, and went anyway
And all she wore was a neglige

Three months later she began to swell,
Six months later you could really tell,
Nine months later out it came…
A Little Paratrooper swingin’ a chain.
