US Military in or near New York

Hi guys,

I have introduced myself sometimes ago as an interested German Army Reserve Officer.

Now my new employer plans to sent me abroad from Germany straight to New York for some weeks in September or October. I do not know the exact time period or date.

I will have some freetime at the weekends and while the other team members go shopping or sightseeing in NY (I have done it as a tourist some years ago, also I am still happy for good advice where to go in NY) I would like to meet US Troops (don't know, whatever possible: USMC, CoastGuard, National Guard, USAmry, USNavy or USAF). I would bring my inspector pass as a inspector of the German Olympic Sports Association with me to provide training and inspection for the German Olympic Sport Badge like I offered it here for US troops deployed to Germany.

Does somebody know an adress/email where I can ask for further information?

I tried to contact 10th Mnt Div in Fort Drum, but got no answer.

Perhaps a German email address is on SPAM?!

Last week I got a chance to shoot with the M16A2 and the M4 for USArmy Expert Rifle and USAF small arms badge.

Really interesting.

Please don`t missunderstand me. I am not trying to get something for free. I would like to do some sport exercise with US soldiers to that the can achieve the German Sport Award (a certifcate and a badge) in return.

But here in world famous Cut&Shoot we can shoot anything!!!

Why just yesterday there were three terroristic squirrels conspiring in the woods behind my house. I could have killed them with extreme prejudice and malice but instead I captured them at gunpoint and put them in a box and shipped them to Mulberry Arkansas. I heard there is a guy there who loves squirrels.

The only one besides Ft Drum would be Ft Hamilton. It is in New York City. But I think they have to go somewhere else to qualify on their weapons.

Ft. Hamilton was the shit....but definitely no ranges I could remember...
Except for maybe Arty into the Ocean...

I would say to link up with Troops that would want to do anything cool...

If you want to shoot I can find out some info, if you do go you will need your Mil ID card and you should run down to Frankfurt and get a cac or ID card for bases back in CONUS.
