The Cold War had it's advantages.

GM is just one small part of the merging of this country with China. They are slowly adopting many of our Capitalistic ways, while we are slowly adopting many of their Communist ways.

There was a spot on last nights evening news about a movement in this country by the X generation or whatever those who are under twenty five are being called, to have our government produce one million government jobs for graduating students. This huge group of Americans do not believe in making an actual product, but rather providing services as the way to build our nation and earn a living.

Now, today, our most sought after jobs are in government or with pseudo government companies.

Our private sector, especially the small companies, that were until just a few years ago, Americas largest employer, is now disintegrating, or it is moving underground.

It is almost like a government vendetta against these small companies that is being waged through taxation, fines, penalties and a growing labyrinth of regulations, all designed to close these millions of companies down.

It is not impossible to envision waking up one morning and seeing the Hammer and Cycle flying beside our Stars and Stripes in front of every government institution.

We are being sold out, there isn't squat we can do about it.

JoBa, remember what we used to say, "if you're not part of the solution, you are part of the problem." I agree with you we are being sold out for various reasons. As Lenin used to brag, "when the last capitalist is hanged, it will be with a rope he sold us." But I disagree that there is nothing we can do about it. We can fight it to our last breath, through information, education, and at the ballot box. The thing about cockroaches is they scatter when you shine light on them. We may not win, but maybe that's not the point, the point is we go down fighting.

That is exactly what I have been doing. I've been doing it on this thread and anyplace else that I can try and stir up. Most of my passion is met by apathy, but I'll keep doing it until they kick my door in.

All around me people are excited about free healthcare while not understanding it drives up the prices of everything else. People are dumb. They believe what they hear without doing any research.
