Sounds like either Washington D.C. or Chicago...

The first Red Dawn was aimed at the high school mentality, no thinking required, get out the popcorn, kick back and enjoy.

This does not look all that different, but instead of those ferocious Mexicans, it looks like a bunch of Chinese, who have never been schooled in the social niceties, that have chosen to be rude to us.

Chinese attacking us seems a whole lot more plausible than our beloved cousins south of the border doing it. But then, these are just shoot-em-up-bang-bang movies, your not supposed to think about all that heavy shit.

A Chinese attack will grind to a halt outside the first Apple Store they come to, as the troops all queue up to get a new iPad and iPhone.

Those weren't Mexicans in the original.

They were supposed to be Cubans, but knowing Hollywood... they were Mexicans from the Home Depot parking lot.

Maybe they should have had the invaders wearing TSA uniforms, Obamas' "Civilian National Security Force".

Cubans, Mexicans, hard to tell em apart. Years ago I dated a very pretty Mexican girl who insisted she was Spanish, not Mexican. I asked her if she ever lived in Spain...nope, never been there. Reminds me of African Americans.

From the trailer showing a Seattle snow globe and a Seattle news anchor, it looks like it's set in the PacNW, a much more likely objective for an enemy in Asia than the MidWest.

I'm almost afraid to go watch this, this looks like yet another bomb from Hollywood. And that really sucks because I still enjoy the first one immensely.

DPRK invading the USA? Sounds like Michael Moore is at it again.

You got that right, what with us all clinging to our God and guns. The libtard capitol of the world would bend over and greet the Socialist Chinese Liberators with open buttcracks.

You mean "volunteering" for DPRK and trailing the libtard "5th Column" along?

Yeah...Seems like every time Hollyweird runs out of original ideas they just recycle one that made money the first time around. Oceans Eleven, The Poseidon Adventure, The Omen, Psycho, even Planet Of The Apes for Pete's sake....and none of them has (IMO) been nearly as good as the original...even with all the computer generated special effects and gee-gaws.

Maybe this one will be the exception...but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I usually have similar feelings about remakes of movies and tv shows we grew up years ago being made today; though I have to say I enjoyed the hell out of John Carpenter's remake of "The Thing" in the early 80's with Kurt Russell. It took a different spin on the original movie; though I'm not allowed by the HH6 to watch that movie on our DVD when she or our girls' are up, having people explode and stuff would be too much for our daughters to see and I agree with that.
