    Default October Georgia IDPA State Match

    Well, it appears that my buddy Jim and I will be SO'ing for the upcoming State Match in October. This is one of the BEST IDPA Matches in the South East. We have shooters from all over to come out and shoot.

    Not sure what Stage we'll get but if you are Classified as Marksman or better in your Division you can register to come out and shoot, you get a great SWAG bag our Sponsors are excellent and support us very well. As soon as GADPA posts registration is open I'll post it here so if you want to you can come out and try to shoot.

    Saturday October 27th is the date of the shoot, I'll actually shoot the course the day prior with the other SO's.

    Not wishing it on you, of course. Just have to decide who I can draft to fix the broken computer stuff around here while you heal up.

    Well last month I had to DQ a shooter for sweeping me with a pistol at slide-lock....So the odds are pretty even I guess

    Ok, how does one go about getting involved in IDPA shooting?

    Hey Brother check out this link for Clubs in the SC area : http://idpa.com/clublist.asp?pick=SC

    You need a serviceable/safe pistol/revolver in a suitable self defense caliber ( .38sp/357- 9mm,40,.45) an IDPA approved holster and 3 mags w/a Mag carrier that will hold 2 mags and 1 extra ( you can have a total of 3 on your belt 1 in the pistol and 2 on your side) show up have a good time, they like for you to be an IDPA member we require membership in our local club (GADPA -Greater Atlanta Defensive Pistol Association) as well.

    Show up early to your local match get the New shooter briefing ( not that you're a new shooter just new to IDPA) and have a good time...better yet show up here in Covington GA on the 22nd of July and you can shoot here with us, this is our monthly outdoor match you can shoot this one without being an IDPA member but if you plan to shoot alot it's required. I have a M&P 9mm range kit you can shoot if you want.

    I'll definitely check out the link, and I'd enjoy shooting with you one day. The 22d is my HH6s birthday, and my couch gets kind of lumpy when you sleep there for long periods of time...thanks for the info and I'll be seeing you soon.

    It's a great game. Be sure to get in on it! You'll also need a "concealment garment". This can be a vest, an open button down shirt, etc.

    That link that Yrualeg gave me was helpful. I live five minutes from one of those ranges, and never knew the damn thing had comp shooting on it.
