Everyones Special now, they must have had beards hey? In my humble 11B opinion a 18 series guys would not have been caught, he understands that SR thing.

IED your are totally correct and the army is also embracing it. Everyone is special and everyone gets a badge and we are all going to be happy. I truly believe that when I was a kid and I had to earn something I took care of it and was proud to have it, when something was given to me not so much. We need to get back to the standards and the foundation. sorry hijacked this thread I just get boiled when I see the special kids argue with those that know a hell of alot more than them and have alot more experience. I may have never grown a beard but I do remember the valuable lesson of STFU and you may learn something. Sorry for hijaking this thread.

Sorry I'm late back to this thread, but I was curious what exactly you meant by this. Is this a dig at those guys being called SOF because they aren't an 18 series MOS? If it is, you might want to read up a little on INSCOM. You won't find much on them, especially where that certain MSG might work, and for a reason. Not to imply that I know, but there are so many things, missions and units out there that you've never heard of, it would blow your mind. And 90% of it does not involve kicking doors. Hats off to the SF guys, they are top notch, but it's time for everyone to stop thinking that just because someone's not wearing a green beenie and sporting a long tab they aren't a bit better than average joe.

Go check out http://www.soc.mil/Memorial%20Wall/U...me%20Page.html and check out some of the guys that were assigned to "HHC USASOC". Some of them aren't sporting tabs, but guess what, yeah you know who they are.

And no, they probably didn't have beards because it's Africa. "18 series guys would not have been caught" implies that you believe they were up to no good. You weren't there and you don't know. It even says in the article they have no reason to believe they were partaking in the services offered by those they were with. For all you know they were working sources. And for all I know I could be totally way off base and talking out of my ass. But that's my point, no one here knows, so don't be so quick to read into it.

If I'm totally off what you were talking about then just ignore me.
What you know about growin' beards, haters?

    I know one thing...

it's time for a round of beers, and I'm buying. Anybody got arguments with that?

I do wish I had the picture of me standing on top of a pallet of their shite, as it laid on it's side after they pushed it off my airplane by hand.......in shorts and t-shirt of course!

Screw Africa. I have no desire to go back there unless it is to East Africa. West Africa is a shithole. North Africa is going to hell and South Africa is crime ridden. For the record I lived in West Africa for 2 years.
