It was far more ominous than that, as “dignitaries” from all over the world convened at United Nations Headquarters in New York for a month-long strategy session.

Their mission? Hammer out and then adopt the Socialist Dream: a global gun control treaty that would place the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution on the dusty back shelf when it comes to your gun rights—if it retained any relevance whatsoever!
And just in case anyone has bought into false arguments that this “International Arms Trade Treaty” is only about military weaponry in foreign lands having nothing to do with your personal, U.S. civilian collection, consider that a number of U.S. Representatives recently sent a letter to Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice.
The coalition, led by Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), cited advancing “human rights” as a goal that required the United States to “take a leadership role in pushing for a strong, verifiable Arms Trade Treaty.” In their minds, such a treaty should include “controls on a comprehensive list of weaponry, including small arms and light weapons,” as well as controls on ammunition.

It's been this way for over 100 years; the lib/progressives try one tactic to get their way, get stopped, so they go another route, if they get stopped that way, they try another route.

If they can't get they want through legislation (which has been rare), they go through court decisions, judge-shopping to find a sympathetic court who will rule their way, if they lose there, they back up, regroup and try again with a new name on the legislation or try another tact in another court until eventually they get their way. It's been two steps forward, one step back, one step forward, one step back. They are patient but have been slowly patiently working to get their agenda across; I just hope enough folks have awakened in time to slow and eventually stop it.

I may be preaching the the choir but the Second Amendment is just so the regular guy can have a chance against the criminals and tyrants. If this "thing" they're wanting to pass goes through then they're just taking the guns away from the law abiding citizens. Cops and Soldiers can't do it all.

The general population of Americans and internationally have been properly brainwashed into hating guns, any accident involving weapons and all they do is scream about the need to ban guns, even heard of Brits that have bought into the propaganda, it has become a sad reality that those of us that understand what the 2nd is all about are the minority, but I have done all I can, my kids know the truth and don't hate on guns

Former U.N. ambassador John Bolton has cautioned gun owners to take this initiative seriously, stating that the U.N. “is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, but there is no doubt that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control.”Because a draft of the treaty hasn’t been and won’t likely be released before the end of the conference, gun advocates are worried that the worst elements of ATT would be concealed so that citizen lobbying against it couldn’t be organized in time to defeat it.
Political analyst Dick Morris has said he believes President Obama will sign the ATT on July 27, setting the stage for U.S. Senate advise and consent hearings during the lame-duck session after this year’s elections. He predicts that during that session, President Obama could enlist two-thirds of the Senate required to approve a treaty and get a resolution of ratification.
If that prediction comes true, then the enforcement arms for ATT in the U.S. would be the Justice Dept. and ATF.

And going back to "Fast and Furious" and other Justice Dept's secret dealings, it makes me believe ATF (BATFE) will swiftly become an unruly, virtually unregulated, unleashed armed-to-their-teeth brutal secret police, matching in performance its 3rd world and commie countries counterparts.

Tell your lawmakers to watch out for sneaking the ratification "under the radar" or bundling it, just to put a "fog" on a floor and drag it along, to great pleasure of current liberal anti-gunners.
