    You may be waiting a while for any 4/325 guys to answer. You see since they took away the "Don't ask don't tell deal", the 4/325 guys have been real busy coming out of and tearing down closets.

    I was there when they retired the ol' 509th They then went to 4th 325 back in '83.

    In the 80's, DRF 9 was the acronym for "Division Ready Force 9". Basically, the last battalion (of the 9 battalions) in the 82nd to go to war, should the balloon go up. Chute detail is a "work detail" guys got drafted for to shake the leaves and dirt from recently used parachutes. No fun.

    Basically, he's calling the 504th PIR a bunch of support guys, using our own special codes.
