The hippo is unpredictable and aggressive with old scars and fresh, deep wounds providing signs of daily fights that are accompanied by much bellowing, neighing and snorting.
There's really no need to re-write the Stolen valor Act. Anything they put in there will be superfluous, as anything they are allowed to put in there is already covered by current fraud statutes. The only thing that can be criminalized is receiving financial gain based on the lies. Again, current fraud statutes cover that. The SVA was written with the intention of curtailing speech; it wasn't an indirect effect. On its face, it was unconstitutional. It's an emotional issue for those who have served with honor, as the frauds/posers have no honor, but karma has a way of working things out. Vets have done a lot in the last few years to reclaim stolen valor from the frauds by exposing them, and maybe that's the way it was intended to be.

Yea, yawn... I got my Medal Of Honor in Viet-fuckin'-Nam when I single-handedly captured Ruby Ridge after taking out two Republican Guard tanks and a couple of machine gun positions saving my whole company and capturing 300 prisoners with my Boy Scout knife and a P-38.

For awhile they were taking all veterans, if you had insurance they would charge your insurance for non-service connected conditions and "cover" any co-pay left over. A few years back due to budget considerations they becan cutting back on enrollments. I received some sort of letter about a deadline, but as I was already enrolled (and only see VA docs for service-connected problems (and I don't really trust them for that too much, but figure they broke it so...) I didn't pay much attention. I don't think it would hurt to write or call your local VA regional office about getting some sort of card - don't know if they have one for non-medical purposes or not. Your State may have its own Department of Veterans Affairs office. I know my State, Alabama, does. We used to have one in every county but times are tough. I know our local veterans affairs officer in my home county did more to help me when I got out than DAV and the American Legion combined (and I'm a lifetime member of the DAV and longtime member of AL). Just some suggestions. Hope they help.

So a veteran is using his/her 1st Amendment Rights whenever they uncover one of these lying POS posers and beat them for being frauds. I wonder how the SC would look at that defense if someone tried to use it; I'm just saying that since honor and integrity don't mean a hill of beans to them now.

Why isn't it constitutional? You just have to look at the penalty as a tax! Then it's all good! It worked for ObamaCare, it can work for anything!
