Basic and AIT April 1986 Fort Benning Georgia (Harmony Church) 11C10 (Mortar Maggot). Straight to jump school, then off to RIP where I sadly, dropped out after failing the roadmarch. Retained my jump status and was shipped to CSC 3/325th ABCT in Vincenza Italy (81mm), then shortly after, transferred to C Co. 3/325th ABCT (60mm) under Captain Shertle (sp?). We were known as Shertle's Turtles because we roadmarched every Friday (payback).After 2 years in Italy I was sent to HHC 1/10th CAV (4 deuce) at Fort Knox Ky and was Honorably Discharged in April of 1990 as a SPC4. Recalled to active duty in Jan 1991 and reported back to Fort Benning. After 1 month of sweeping, mopping, and buffing floors of all the barracks, I was sent home because they couldn't find my medical records.
And that gents, is pretty much it in a nutshell!
