Pop up blocker information bar.

A new feature has just started on this site, it is called a block pop up information bar. It started last night, and I can't get rid of it.

It is a pop up that appears at the top of my page every time I navigate anywhere on this forum. It does not happen on other forums, only this one. Each time it pops up, it makes an annoying sound to alert me that it is there.

Following the instructions on how to disable this bar and sound effect does no good at all. I've followed them to the letter, even re-booted my computer after making the changes, with no results at all.

Is there any way this can be controlled at the administrators end?

It is obnoxious enough to make me give up on this forum altogether. It's like a Chinese water torture, I wait and wait for the next pop up and gong or whatever that noise is called.

Have you checked your PMs? The rarer time I get one Chrome and Firefox will give me a popup blocked warning

No changes have been made on our end, it seems it's a security setting on your end. Can you give us a photo of it so we can help you?

It won't let me copy and paste it. The instructions tell me to go to the tools tab at the top of the page of internet explorer, click on it, then to click on Pop-up blocker settings, then to clear the Show Information Bar when a pop-up is blocked check box, and then click close.

I did all that, and it does nothing to stop the bar from popping up nor stop the sound alert noise.

But anyway, now that I know it is not on your end, I can keep trying my end. There aren't many little kids in my neighborhood, so I can't go to the experts for help unless I pay a professional geek.

It is totally obnoxious, but what is more frustrating is it ignores it's own instructions on how to disable it.

I'll try my control panel, see if I can find something there. It occurs on any navigation of this sight, even when I post this reply.

Hmmm. Strange. To get us a copy of what it looks like, do this:

1. Press the "PrtScrn" button on your keyboard. This takes a picture of your screen.

2. Open the "Paint" program. It's probably in the "Accessories" folder when you click the Start button.

3. Click "Edit, Paste". This will paste the picture into your Paint program.

4. Save the Paint file.

5. Go ahead and send it to the verifications@armyparatrooper.org email address. I'll get it there. Perhaps we can figure out what's going on. I've got in-laws coming over in a hour or so, so I might not get to it until tomorrow.

Here we go again........It's probably the old script timing out message. Still does it to me whether I log in with Firefox or IE and no, it's not part of a AV update. Something with the site is causing it and it pops up only when I view a forum page that Spongebob posted on..........FML!

Mine finally straightened itself out. Still kinda slow but no more windows popping up.

Joba you might need to go to google and eliminate cookies it allows. I had a serious problem with bullshit not long ago and cleared my comp my browsers then google. During this process Mozilla updated twice. Don't know who did it but it's working a lot better now.

Then he needs to clean his browser. He can go to microsoft and they have info on how to do that. It's his computer that's not accepting the page.
