    Default Memorial Day

Has anyone else heard about obama blocking vets and families from the Wall for seven hours?

The hippo is unpredictable and aggressive with old scars and fresh, deep wounds providing signs of daily fights that are accompanied by much bellowing, neighing and snorting.

Hadn't heard about it until I seen your post. I googled it and found several links on the subject.

I guess now it takes 7 hours to take a couple of pics. He just makes me sick.

Meh...politics and an election year and partisan political commentators.

People need to renew their 'chill pill' prescriptions - some of the Wall was cordoned off for security reasons as it would have been for any POTUS because the POTUS and many other dignitaries were there for a MAJOR event honoring the 50th Anniversary of events near the beginning of our inolvement in the Vietnam War.

He also escorted the widow of recent MOH awardee Specialist Leslie H. Sabo for the placing of a wreath at the wall to honor those whose names are inscribed therein similar to what was done earlier that day when he was at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

I dislike this POTUS...but I also dislike all the half-a$$ed partisan political sniping that takes place in the blogosphere concerning all our Presidents.

    And so it goes...

I think it's a shame. What about people that travelled a long distance to see their loved ones? And than turned away.

I may ruffle some feathers here.

He was there for a presentaion and to give a speech. OF COURSE they are going to block off part of it for security reasons. He was there paying respects. He is the POTUS. If he had not shown up or done anything at all I am sure there would be some out there that would cry foul that he didn't do anything. If Bush or Reagan were there they would have done the same thing and no one would have said anything. They only blocked off a portion for the time that he was there for security.

The two links that were posted above were not news links, they were blogs. One of them actually made me laugh where it said people were held back "hundres of feet" yet you could see in the picture they were probably 10 to 15 feet.

I am not an Obama fan but Jesus Christ at least he was there. Whatever his motives were he was still there and showed his respects. To be honest I was happy that he chose to be there at the wall. Usually the POTUS is at the Tomb on Memorial Day.
