Total fuck up, but apparently this jump company has a questionable safety record.

I saw it on the news last night, major cluster fuck. Then the owner of some local sky diving operation gets on the news and starts claiming that none of his instructors would ever jump if their student said no. "Nope, we would take them back in the plane." Of course they would.

Anyway, it all worked out well for the old mare, she will have that story to tell for the rest of her life.

Since I'm very familiar with topic and environment of commercial skydiving, I fault Tandem Instructor 100%.
"Get ready" position sucked, immediately followed by horrible exit and disastrous opening and horror-movie grade descent.
Thank God, poor lady didn't flip out of the harness in the mid-air.

What I see is that Instructor very likely didn't tighten Student's harness attachment straps well. Combined with saggy exit position, here is a recipe for disaster.
I'm sure FAA and USPA are all over that place and I bet you, guy's Tandem Instructor license is going to be suspended.

Such precedents give Skydiving bad rep, which is very unfair, taking into considerations having the best in the world equipment, training and licensing (kudos to USPA).

I have never paid to exit an aircraft. On that note why would you pay, get up there and then chicken out. I can't see the video because I'm in Korea but the story tells everything. She got Jumpmastered .

I think it was a little more than that....her harness had some serious issues.

Remember, you don't need a parachute to skydive - you only need a parachute if you're planning to skydive more than once.

    And so it goes...

If you rest when you should be working, if you drink when you should be humping, if you let your buddy carry a load too heavy for him - you're gone. No questions, just you're gone. They don't need you."
