    Oh my.

I joined 5/19th SF at 29, then went back in active to get a better chance at a slot. Had to repeat INF OSUT at 30 with fuckin' teenagers - it sucked being around that much stupid but WTF, you do what ya gotta. Without wanting it, you're wasting a slot, and probably wouldn't cut it. No disrespect, I totally understand your reluctance - it was a total lifestyle change and only cost me my knees, and ultimately wife #2. I wish I could rewind to that day when I signed back up... there are mistakes I made I'd correct, but doing it wasn't one of them.

Yeah, I'm afraid my desires are rather limited. While I'm not interested in going to selection, I'm not interested in turning support MOS either.

Join the Air Farce Reserve, lots of those guys wear wings and parachutes, even eating doughnuts in their office chairs or "grabbing some breakfast" at Denny's till 11:00 a.m. on drill weekend.

And yet you want to go to a LRS unit? You realize that shit isn't easy either.

Since when has being on jump status been "easy???" Maybe a leg unit would be more to his liking?

I'm not looking for an easy road but I'm not looking to spend over a year back on active duty getting a long tab. If that was what I wanted I would have tried for it while I was on active duty. I was an airborne infantryman and I'm interested in doing that again on a limited basis, hence the Guard. There are Infantry units closer to me but if my state has a unit that jumps I'd rather give that a shot.

    Default National Guard ABN units?

Makes better sense. Sounded like you were blaming your age for sudden onset vagitis. I can understand not wanting to be in school for a year plus.

John83 hasn't been signed into APO since early July last year. Anyone know if he ever found what he was looking for?

Or is Magnet just adding to a dead thread because Missouri did a one-and-done run in the NCAA tourney, and he feels the need to pick on something while he's home and gassed, and can't shoot anyone (legally)?

Dirtdart revived it, I hadn't paid attention to this thread since I smelled the overwhelming odor of whiny vagina... and didn't check the time stamp on John's last post before I replied. Oh well...

I'm pretty careful about checking my dates.

Mostly to make sure they don't have balls.
