And no, I have never heard of Clan FUBAR. I hope this poses no problem for you.

Hold the hell on, might be a SNAFU a brewin'.

And John, at 13 I was discovering masturbation, in my 50s I hope to be fishing and golfing, and that was a good retort on your part.

IED, I hope you get your wish, even so, never give up trying to accomplish things, you'll enjoy the bragging rights even more as you pile on the years.

"FUBAR" has been around since WWII.

I think he was specifically referring to Clan FUBAR, not just the acronym.

Doesn't it go from SNAFU to TARFU then FUBAR?

Hmmm. And from what I can see, you're actually the first one to bring up "sex".

If it wasn't for you MILFs around here with sex on the brain, we'd probably never talk about it...

ohhh, smack. You tell 'em, Pa. Back when the Army wasn't what you joined so you could afford an Xbox, talk on a cell phone, and pay your credit card bills. Back when your Platoon Sgt's cherry blast was Operation Neptune or Market Garden, and a PVT didn't mouth off to a Corporal, let alone a SGT or Officer.

We all had one fatigue shirt that had no rank on it. It was used in the event some big mouthed private needed a little extra training after hours during a one-on-one evening run. In those days, Sgts, or Cpls, were not allowed to beat the crap out of ten percenters, at least not during duty hours. The shirt with no rank was in case someone saw a private swing on a Sgt. Not a problem if there isn't any Sgts involved.

Myself, and a few other squad leaders would also wear our privates shirt during our once a month beer meeting in a field near our barracks. It was held just before payday when nobody could afford to go and buy there own beer. The Sgt of course paid for the beer. In those days to get a squad drunk only cost around twenty dollars, if that.

Often, after a few beers, someone would want to question our ability to lead them, this was when all that could get sorted out.

Club BOHICA is strictly for Dark; we thought it would be a nice thing for him to belong to.

Yes, we used the phrase "Fucked up beyond all recognition", it was pretty common. We did not use it in the form of an acronym, and nothing about no clan.

At 69 my memory is not what it once was, more than a few concussions, but we rarely used acronyms for anything. When I saw the acronym, I couldn't put it together. That's why I asked.

We did not have computers, we had to write it out on paper. We did not have calculators, we had to use plotting boards, we did not have GPS, we had to use maps, compasses, strings with knots tied to represent distance traveled, handy to know that during a night patrol. We had no fancy texting cell phones, we used a prick 6 or a prick 10.

We knew how to use the battery from a prick 10 to run a light bulb, fire a roadside IED, (in those days it was not called an IED, it was a booby trap) and set other fun booby traps. Did you know you could fire a 106 RR round from its cardboard case using a prick 10 battery and some wire?

We used C-4 to heat our C rations in the field, if we had time. We did not have MREs

I don't know what BOHICA means either. This thread is turning into a classroom.

Aviation is all acronyms as well. Why can't people just say what they want to say anymore?
