Ask him if that price includes the tripod; if so, I'll talk to my crazy friends ... chances are good they'd buy it. I assume it has BATF documents saying it's legal?

Let me find out about all the paperwork./ I think because it is a semi auto it is legal, tha tis th eonly way he wable able to buy it from the gun shop. As far as the tri pod I am sure it is included. I will find out for sure though.

Depending on who did the build and how it was done, it may be legal and it may not. Being semi by itself isn't the only BS BATF legal requirement. It has to be built per approved configuration so that it cannot be easily changed to automatic.
Some builders of so called semi-machine guns provide documentation of BATF approval. If it were built by Bubba in his garage, it may be legal... and it may not.

That was my understanding, but I don't have enough experience with the modern laws regarding that anymore. Thanks for the clarification.
