It is called Basic Airborne Course for a reason has always been my opnion. While it was challenging while going through the course the real training began in my unit. That is the way I always thought about it. Those that fell out for whatever reason during whichever reason other than medical just did not have the heart for it to begin with.
Exactly this!

Airborne School seemed easy when I got there, but that probably had something to do with constantly double-timing and pushing for the previous 14 weeks more than any decrease in standards at BAC. The "snap-to-it" seemed more of a problem for those that hadn't just recently graduated basic, and the Black Hats wouldn't let them get away with it. I thought I had "arrived" after graduating BAC, but then found out that I was just beginning when I got to my unit.
