    Default Shooting steel

If anyone lives around the NE Georgia area, and likes to shoot steel, I just bought 200 lbs of plate for $10 cash. BESCO steel corp in winder, GA. they will let you dig in their scrap pile, which has at least 5000 pieces in it, anything from 1/4" to 1" steel, round and square tubing, plate, whatever you need. It isnt AR500 quality but at that price, shoot it full of holes then buy some more......

Just a word of caution, not armored steel will "crater"/dimple, making for wild ricochets, if you shoot it with a rifle you could get peeling jackets as the bullet passes through steel. Make sure to maintain 10m minimum distance.

Not too sure about the police chief, i try to stay away from winder as much as possible, ghetto as hell. Ive got some smaller plate for pistol, and i definitly give myself room for ricochets. I will let yall know how it holds up against my mosin7.62x54 this weekend. Ive got 1" plate for it and a good 300m standoff from it. I only use gong style targets, to help absorb the impact and reduce the chance of lead returning to sender.
