    Default Smith 39-2

Considering trading (or -- gulp -- selling) my S&W Model 39-2 9mm. This weapon was reportedly a duty pistol of the Illinois State HP in its early life, and was tuned to function quite smoothly. Couple three mags, Safariland basketweave hip holster and double-mag pouch (both black). Shows a bit of holster wear on the slide (muzzle end), otherwise very good shape.

The IL State Police changed from the S&W Model 29 to the 39 sometime in the mid 80's?. The Model 29 was known for fte problems.

Hmm... I think a mix-up here. The S&W Model 29 is the blue steel N-frame revolver in .44 Magnum.

You are correct. It was the model 39, not 29. They went to the "39-2" in the 1980's. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
