I spoke with Ranger Har on the phone yesterday evening. I got some great tips and a couple of new things to start working on. I put everything into practice today and am glad to report that my legs feel like rubber. I'm not sore yet, but I can tell tomorrow I'm going to need to do a lot of stretching. I did some PT today in the morning and a little more in the late afternoon/evening. All of it was outdoors and we had record heat here in Indy today. I kept myself hydrated all day for safety. It was hot and I sweat like I've never sweated before.
Remember you hydrate today, for tomorrow. Make sure you are taking care of it.
You have a test date, and I'll be expecting scores. Outside of that you have your knowledge assignment, and as per your request I'm working on some more stuff for you to be studying on. I'm going to come up with something. I still owe you a CAS power point, so I'll knock something out.
Between Ranger Har and Ranger Heathen, you should be well prepared for whichever path you set your mind to. Bottom line, as I have told you before, is anything you set out to do is 80-90% mental as long as your PT is there. It all has to end sometime, just don't let the "q" word or "f" (7 letter, not 4) word enter your nugget.
I'm looking forward to your graduations man...great things in store for you.

I reported back to Ranger Har this afternoon and we had a long discussion. His instructions are definitely helping me work muscles in my legs that haven't been worked in a long time. I know a lot of you guys like your trucks and 4x4. A truck is next on my list, but I'm into sports cars. I've got a manual trans car with a sport/race clutch in it. Its pretty stiff compared to most normal manual cars. Yesterday driving in traffic I noticed that my left leg was starting to shake involuntarily while pushing the clutch in. It was kind of funny, and must mean my legs are getting a good workout. I'm not breathing nearly as heavy as I was before when doing PT either. I've also noticed my body is starting to sweat more at a pretty constant rate. It's been extremely hot doing PT out doors but it seems to really be helping. Everyone tells me Ft. Benning in September is going to be hot, so I figure I better get used to it. And just so everyone's mind is at ease, I've been hydrating like crazy. I have a camelback I picked up at the PX as well as tons of bottled water at my house. I drink as much water as possible along with a Gatorade here and there. Things are progressing well, gentleman. I'll report back tomorrow with my PT scores. Ranger Har seems to think with my additional training exercises that in about three weeks time I should start seeing some drastic time improvements in my run.
Sorry, I'll report my PT scores on the evening of the 7th. For some reason I was thinking my update was on the 2nd.

I'm gonna rest tomorrow and run it again early Monday morning. I was hoping it would cool down a bit this evening but it was still over 100 degrees when I ran through my PT test. I'm not satisfied with my numbers. I was expecting improvements in everything. I'll report back Monday.
Not bad for the heat. Keep pressing but stay hydrated.

You should have a better time on Monday. That will be your real time with a day of rest.

Ranger Har, I've been working on all the things we've discussed. I haven't quite found the perfect stride, but I'm getting closer. Everything seems to be improving and I can tell a big difference in all of my PT. I'm determined to kick the runs ass.
2 mile run: 14:27
My first mile was under six and a half minutes, which is one of the faster miles I've ran. Ranger Har, thanks for the help. My running technique and breathing you instructed me on paid off big time. As well as the extra PT you instructed me on. I got a cramp on my right side right under my lower ribs on the second mile which slowed me down significantly. However, I didn't stop running. My pace suffered at a couple of points but I didn't quit. I realize I still need a lot of improvement but today I feel like I made it over a big hurdle. Especially with the speed of my first mile. I'll keep posting my improvements every week from here on out. I want to break 14 minutes in the next week or so. Its only 30 seconds. Can anyone help me with the cramping under my ribs? It seems to happen frequently. I figured it was just my breathing, but I've improved that. Any help would be appreciated.
