If you need any help on the recruiting end of the stick, let me know.

"A dark star is an illuminating round that fails to deploy at all or fails to ignite. Such malfunctions are due to either faulty ammunition or improper fuze settings. When a dark star occurs, report DARK STAR, REPEAT, OVER." FM 6-30. In other words, a dud.
Not to stick my nose in too far, but I would recommend running on trail as well as street. You use different muscles to compensate for terrain variation that flat pavement doesn't require. I understand this can prevent shin splints, even with experienced runners, as well as get you familiar moving in high gear across country.
In various searches around the interweb, I've encountered Army Infantry training materials online for many of the tasks that are tested at the end of OSUT. My suggestion would be to seek these out or get them from your mentors if possible, and start getting very comfortable with them. Back in the day, more guys used to bolo First Aid than any other station. Besides that, knowing your shit cold on First Aid may impress your trainers and perhaps mark you as a man your buddies can depend on.
Just some things I've found that may be useful:

Call for Fire PPT is complete and waiting on a GRP for delivery. Per our phone conversation the PPT is just an overview for you to build your foundation so you aren't taken by surprise when it is introduced in training. Any questions, clarification, or additional requests for information are welcome.... as normally there are no stupid questions; only stupid people who won't ask when they have one.

Have at it brother, I'm here to develop opportunities to prepare him for his journey. He has the best hands on mentor possible in Kilted, I do what I can, but honestly have been absolutely slammed to the gills with extra curricular work shit, and I would call him a retard to his grill for not talking to you.
Short of Answering questions, I'm out of ideas at the moment to have him do via email.
David....like Kilted, Har is a Ranger I greatly admire and respect....it would be beneficial to speak with him. PM will also be sent.
On top of that, David, you have shown an interest in the 82d. Do some research for yourself. Report your findings here. I don't need a college paper, just a synopsis of the Division's history (formed, major battles, etc etc). You've got a lot of wants, which I believe to be an awesome quality, but you need to start putting some more thought on what you want your 300 m target to be, so you know what 25 meter targets to engage. Two weeks for that assignment.
