Hopefully my ass. Jeeeezus. You're making a commitment to Uncle Sam for four years. Get what ya want. If it don't say Option 4 then don't sign it. Wait. You'll get it eventually.

You get it in writing then hold up your end of the deal and you'll be good to go.

Unfortunately he has already signed once. This RENO is a chance to fix the lack of OPT 4 at the time of his initial contract. If he doesn't get it he is still Infantry.

He may piss off some recruiters but until he holds his hand up and swears in he's legal to negotiate.

Yep... No argument here Brother, but it's a fairly well confirmed fact that Regiment is recruiting out of OSUT harder than they are the streets. Taking the guys who show the hell out during training.

My point being its completely in his hands in OSUT, and up to the recruiters and Guidance Counselors before then. His ship date only changes if he is renegotiated.

Point with the Regiment thing is that is one of his targets. Regiment or an Airborne contract at bare minimum.

And my point is if it ain't in writing then it's a raffle or a powerball or a slim chance in hell. You get it on paper and Uncle Sam will deliver as long as you hold up your end of that contract.

I went in to renegotiate. The only job they had with airborne in it was a truck driver, 88something I believe. I don't want to be a truck driver so I kept the infantry slot. I confirmed that my reno paperwork is good until August 4, so I still have some time. They say they are going to keep trying to work on it and the first Airborne slot that opens they will add to my paperwork and have me come in to sign. I guess I will wait a bit and see. Worse comes to worse, I will just have to work hard in OSUT. I have no doubt that if I work hard and my scores are high and my leadership apparent that I can at least get a slot in Airborne School.

Just stay on top of it man. In the mean time. Put in your work physically. Conduct the link up operation with Heathen so he can start you on your mental work out. In the end, you are master of your destiny. Put in the work now, and in training....if your recruiters aren't able to score your RENO, then make your own luck and be the top of everything you do. I don't want to see you in Legland. Make it happen troop.

He's on track folks. No concerns. He has been given specific guidance on hounding his recruiters (me... never) and has a good head on his shoulders. He'll knock it out.

David- 02 June is your next PT update. Continue to study what you have been given by Kilted Heathen, become well versed in it, and don't be afraid to ask questions of either of us about it. You know what to do.
