I saw the shooter on TV hes no small guy. Hes patrolling the neighborhood with a loaded automatic "community watch" or some other platform hes high on. Runs across smart ass young kid. All young kids are smart asses. I was. Unless this kid physically assaulted him in a bad take the gun away type move, I think the shooter is a murderer. He could have kicked that kids ass. IMO

You saw the shooter on TV? Did you also see a current picture of the kid? Probably not.

Here's the tale of the tape:

Zimmerman, 28, is 5-foot-9 and weighs well over 200 pounds.

Trayvon Martin, 17, was about 6-foot-3 and 150 pounds.

So what makes you think Zimmerman could have kicked this kid's ass? What kind of shape were they both in? Either one have any martial arts, hand-to-hand, or combatives training? Even so, if you've ever watched any MMA, you know that on any given day anyone can get their ass handed to them.

So are you against people protecting their neighborhoods? What would you have done if you were in Zimmerman's situation?

Hes patrolling the neighborhood with a loaded automatic....
And you'd prefer he patrol with an unloaded automatic?

Bottom line, IMHO, all the wrong issues are being discussed in this case.

The best part... Treyvon's mom has copyrighted his name.

I have no problem with a community watch at all, great idea. Untrained civilians carrying handguns to do it? no, no thank you, not unless there's a fucking riot going on. As for an ass whopping the punk was a stick of a KID. An unarmed stick of a kid. That's were I see the wrong. But hey its America and I can think that. Killing unarmed kids is cool OK. Your a scary soldier.

Zimmerman is a registered Democrat as well.

If only Zimmerman was a blond haired, blue eyed, 6 foot 5, Tea Party, conservative Republican. Darn those facts!!

Where did you see anything that said Zimmerman was untrained? According to most reports I have read he had a concealed carry permit, which in most states requires training.

If you feel that this type of training is insufficient then what kind of training do you think should be required of civilians before they are allowed to own and carry firearms?

And please, do not put words in my mouth, nowhere did I say that shooting unarmed kids is cool.

Florida does require training to get a C/C permit.
There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live -- did live, from habit that became instinct -- in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized. E. A. Blair

x2 - ESPECIALLY if they are armed...reports coming out now (that the media conveniently left out) are that the kid smacked Zimmerman in the face (or back of the head) and repeatedly hit his head/face on the cement walk WHILE Zimmerman was walking back to his car AFTER he lost the kid and was no longer "trailing" him.

Self defense in my book if Treyvon was slamming the guys face repeatedly into the sidewalk (which Sanford police have confirmed evidence is consistent with this).

Now, the Black Panthers have put up a $1mm reward for the capture of Zimmerman "dead or alive"!! WTFO?!!? I thought this was still America and "bounties" like this were illegal!!!

Howdy. In case I missed your intro, welcome to the site!

As far as owning and using a gun, all you or anyone needs is the Constitution. Nobody needs "proper" training to use one.

All you need to know, is how the safety works, which end the bullet comes out, and how to store and clean the firearm.

Raise your hand if your dad took you shooting as a young child...... "me, me, me!"

"proper" training still will not fix idiots that happen to carry or play with guns. That includes military personal and LEO's, and civilians.

You can have all the best training in the world, and still not handle a gun properly.
