11th Pathfinder Platoon, 1st Cav Div Vietnam - 1970

My Brother, Bob was the Pathfinder Platoon Leader of the 11th Pathfinder Platoon in 1970 when the ARVN invaded Cambodia. He and his RTO jumped in the day before the invasion to set up the LZs to be used by the 1st Cav Helicopters that would be lifting in the ARVN Airborne (Nhay Due) and the ARVN Ranger (Biet Dong Quan).

1LT Robert T. Soetaert received the Bronze Star (V) and a cluster for his Air Medal along with being awarded RVN Jump Wings for his actions!

Bob left active duty to go back to college, but stayed in the Army Reserves. Eventually retiring as a Colonel (0-6).
