Doesn't matter, it's just a number.

CAL Have you seriously not received your coin yet?
I will be checking the P.O. today for any stragglers.

I found this and thought it something to pass on.
Always carry your coin as a reminder of your commitment and connection to something bigger in your daily life.
- Traditional "Challenge Coin Check" Rules for Veterans & Military
- A "Coin Check" consists of a challenge and response. A challenge is initiated by either holding your coin in the air or slamming it on a table or floor and yelling "Coin Check!"
- Individual(s) challenged must respond by showing their Coin with their own unit's logo to the challenger within 10 seconds.
- Anyone challenged who doesn't show their Coin must buy a round of drinks for all challenged, including the challenger.
- Coin Checks are permitted anywhere and anytime.
- If everyone being challenged produces their Coin, the challenger must buy a round of drinks for all challenged.
- If you accidentally drop your Coin and it makes an audible sound on impact, then you "accidentally" initiated a Coin Check.
- There are no exceptions to the rules. They apply to clothed or un- clothed. One step and an arms reach are allowed.
- A Coin is a Coin. They are not belt buckles, key chains or necklaces. Coins worn in a holder around the neck are valid.

You're about to jump out a perfectly good airplane Johnny, how do you feel about that?
You gonna jump or jerk off?
I was in a hotel bar about 8 years ago or so when I ran across a guy who had been in the same company as me, albeit I was in the company (B1/506 IN) about 5 years after him. We had both been out for some time. We talked about the Company Coin, which we both had.
I pulled mine out of my wallet, not intending to coin check. He didn't have his with him. Although I told him not to, he bought the beer anyways.
Always carry your coin.

We didn't have coins back in prehistoric times - at least I never heard of them. Are they typically available for Company level, Battalion level, or Regiment level? And where can a person obtain one? I've got an APO coin (#66 - appropriate for a "Devil" I guess!) in my pocket at all times but it would be nice to get one from my old unit as well...

Same here; my time in Division was '72-'74. This past Sept. I attended my friend's Arctic Ranger Reunion as a guest and traded/ gave out some of my APO coins to try and recruit some members to this site. I was hoping we could add some members from the reunion. I know we gave an APO coin to a Ranger Hall of Fame member. The intention was good.
