    Default Enlisting Question

I know a kid who took the ASVAB...got scores of 85 n 120...forgive have no clue what they mean. Times have changed since Washington n I served together. He has 90+ credits. What kind of rank would he get going in, what's he need to get a contract to get Jump School and Ranger School or possibly into SFAS? THanks guys.

If the scores are AFQT and GT, his scores are GTG for Ranger or SF.
At least, the last I heard, the GT requirements for these haven't changed.

I don't think test scores by themselves can give a bump in rank.
He would need college or other achievements.
    The answer- November 6, 2012.

The question- What is the last day that Barack Obama has to make ANY pretense of not being an extreme leftist?

I believe 60 semester credit hours will get E-2, 90 semester credit hours will get E-3, and 120 semester credit hours will get E-4. Hours need to be from an accredited university of course.

Why tiptoe through life only to arrive safely at deaths door?

His AFQT is high, if the 120 is his GT then he should be able to get whatever CMF he wants. 110 is the cutoff for 18X or Opt 40.... last time I looked that is.

The rest will depend on his ability to get a clearance and get through the pipeline. Option 40s are extremely hard to come by speaking with current Recruiter types, but 18X is a little easier to get.

Thanks for the info guys...I am working off secondhand info from his mother we used to work together...apparently he is even reluctant to call me; I don't ask not worth the hassle...Al I'll get the info off of you when you get back and send it to her. From the sound of it he is a few credits short of his degree so he should qualify to enlist as at lest an E3.

Pretty sure 90 credits is plenty enough to enlist as a 2LT in the Guard, just have to finish school within a certain period of time. Not sure if that can stack with 18x, and not sure if any of that has changed, been a while since I helped recruit..just throwing it out there.

They have to have their bachelors before promotion to Captain. There is a time limit, but I don't recall it. They basically get QRP'd if they don't make the cut.

You can start OCS with 60 credits and must have 90 to commission. You then have two years to finish your bachelors.

BTW, no one "enlists" as a 2nd Lt. You enlist to get the opportunity to earn 2nd Lt.

Only because we respect you. Remember, I'm a blue card carrier and he is out. So....technically it's anything short of assclown...though that ruins the proper usage of assclown. It can't lose it's meaning as the title of my book about Iraq will be "General Rodhuffer and the Assclowns come to town".
