Default Best quote of the week.

Best line from the book Sky Men by Robert Kershaw: Speaking about selection and the attributes of a Falschirmjager at the beginning of the war. a German paratrooper says" They were of a very high standard of discipline and physical condition, but all had a bit of the schweinhund in him."

    Nice.

I thought the quote of the week though would have been our Vice President stating that the Taliban is not our enemy. BWAHAHAHAHAHA

" Get out of that door you Goddamn piece of shit" and than I felt the kick of the boot on my skinny ass and the small of my back- it broke my grasp of the tower door and out I went screaming like a little girl

A bit of the schweinhund.... yep that captures it.
There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live -- did live, from habit that became instinct -- in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized. E. A. Blair
