Former Panama Military Strongman Noriega Returns to Panama

PARIS – Former military strongman Manuel Antonio Noriega was flown home to Panama on Sunday to be punished once again for crimes he committed during a career that saw him transformed from a close Cold War ally of Washington to the vilified target of a U.S. invasion.
Noriega left Orly airport, south of Paris, on a flight of Spain's Iberia airlines, delivered directly to the aircraft by a four-car convoy and motorcycles that escorted him from the French capital's walked La Sante prison. The flight, which stops in Madrid, left at 8:08 a.m. about a half-hour behind schedule.

I disagree, death isn't as painful as one jail cell after another.

He will never be a free man, and will probably die a painful death at the hands of his political enemies.

    Death by paper cut.

I have always had a problem with the Noriega issue. And the problem isn't what most would think it is.

We created the monster he became and even condoned his behavior. And then we go in and throw him out of power? Fucking gay and stupid. It also points out a major shitstain on the way we pick and choose "friends".

Im more disgusted with our country over the Noriega situation then I am with him. Granted it was over 20 years ago, but nothing has changed. WE are still in bed with other monsters today.

I agree with your pint, like haven't we supported and armed both Iraq and Iran over the years? Look at what the got us. I don't expect anything good from Iraq, Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan

You joke, but for the French, their jails border on cruel and inhumane.

They wake them up at 7:00 am and the interior decorating is positively draconian.

Then there are the mind games... like serving robust Burgundy with chicken.
