You know what's really fucked up? They just approved a 3.6% raise to SS and VA disability recipients. Amazing assed shit. They are giving out more money they don't have when they should be fucking cutting.

And yes, my shit just went up 3.6%. I will be using my raise to buy a seed bank. haha

Even people in my little town have their heads buried in the sand. I go to a meeting once a month for VFW/Crimestoppers. They do them together since some of the same people are involved in both orgs.

One of the VFW topics for discussion, was how important lobbyists are for the veteran cause. Sure they are important, but no more important than the other lobbyists.

I would be one such person that you refer to. While everyone is yelling and pointing their finger at others, our economy is going to collapse in on itself in the the next couple of years. don't believe me? Then don't fucking prepare.

When the mandatory deep cuts come, "austerity" measures, to try to save what little is left you just take your happy entitled ass down to city hall and make a complaint.

Everyone wants cuts, but nobody wants cuts in areas that would directly affect them. That is why we are doomed. "Im too fucking good to have my shit cut". "I served, therefor I earned" blah, blah, blah...............

Cuts are coming and if you don't prepare now, you can't blame anyone but yourself.

I don't agree with the "You served, you earned Period" statement. I know a worthless bitch who rode profiles and only served in a Garrison for about a year and a half. She got out because she was knocked up and she was able to claim some problems with her feet. This is the same person who was on soft-shoe profile for that injury but at the club at night wearing 4 inch heels. Now she is getting disability and tells everyone she is a disabled bet. She is the type of person who gives every disabled vet a bad name and drains the system.

Be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. "You served, you earned" does not include shammers and fakers. Don't include them when you talk about legitimate vet benefits. I agree with YSYE. I do not support vet bennies to those that are abusing the system.

Next subject: Taking care of the absolutely deserving veteran population is not going to sink this economy. Concentrate on cutting all the unconstitutional programs that the feds are involved in. They should go. Not vet benefits. If you can't see the difference you're beyond help. Doesn't mean I'm not prepping either.

I am all for Deserving Vets who should get benefits to get them. But until we fix the problem of fakers and shammers getting it there will be issues. I was pissed that my Sister's wife (I refuse to call him a Brother in Law) was awarded benefits. He was given a Bad conduct discharge after spending a year in a Regional Correctional Facility (Ft. Sill) and he still got disability and GI Bill. I couldn't believe that they said his first enlistment was honorable so he would get GI Bill.

Not quite. We spend about 1% of the US budget on Foreign Aid. You would actually have to cut the DOD Military Aid to save more money. Seeing how the give Pakistan over a Billion and Egypt over a Billion a year.

I think 2 billion would go a long way to helping the VA get caught up on their backlog for determining benefits and ratings (measured in years), and hiring more Dr's so vets don't have to wait three months for an appt.

Suck it!! I don't pull any checks or am I in the VA system, all I'm doing is trying to stick up for the vets that deserve it. By the way I bet your not giving up any checks all you do is sound like Obama and how it's everyone's duty but your own to bail out this economy.....
