Heres a couple little things that I like and can save a $ or two,I use a coffie can to heat water ,its light, and you can get diferent sizes and stack them if you want mine has a wire for a handle,Ive had a wisperlight stove for... well, since the 80s and have used it alot, still works without a hitch.with tents personally I wouldent buy less than a 4 man that size is great for 2 ,ok for 3 ,there are alot of good ones, get one that the fly comes all the way down unless you like getting wet.Sleeping bags,I like hollow fill of some kind ,down sucks if you get it wet,and shit happens, get one rated for 30+ degrees colder than you expect(especially for HH6) ,unless you like being cold, I like the tall size ,I'm only 5'8 but thats where I keep my extra clothes .You'l want somkind of ground pad theres alot of good ones.FOOD,instant oatmeal is handy, you can dump a couple packs in a canteen cup pour some hot water on ,breakfast is served,Top romin is also light, inexpensive and easy,I like to precook some hamberger to add to it to make a meal, tuna goes good too.I use the coffie singles ,pretty handy .for cleanup I like the old brass or copper scrubber they work well with verry little water.I take the small cans of condensed milk for the oatmeal and coffie it small and a nice luxury.I personally dont like internal frames for heavy loads ,but Ive never had a really good one .I have a custom camp trails,my second choice would be a Kelty, but theres alot of new stuff thats good.I like the one big compartment instead of the devided type.spend the extra (if you can)on boots, Ruck, sleeping bags, tent, the rest you can just about get at the junk store.I keep a small maglight on a string around my neck... pretty handy,in addition to whatever main light source you use,I still use a single burner coleman lantern ,same fuel as my stove.

Well everything is put together and ready. Got the wife out yesterday and we went five miles on the local trails along the river. Trip is planned, took longer than I wanted to to purchase all the gear but, that shit is expensive and I did not have a couple grand laying around to outfit her and update me. Leaving in March for the Charles Deam Wilderness in Southern Indiana. Thank You Italyjumper1 for all your advise, I ended up at the local store and they gave me great discounts for everything and made it better.

Packs: Osprey Aether 70L with a Daylight 13L addon for the extra space as needed and a Osprey Ariel 55 for her. Both have 2L bladders in them.

Bags: Marmot Sawtooth for me and a Marmot Angel Fire for her.

Tent, this was a very hard decision. Wanted one that was a long lasting and durable and wieght was important also. Went with the MSR Hubba Hubba.

Water purification. Another hard decision and this baby will remove food cloring from water.

Trusty Jet Boil for the stove. Had it for a long time. Makes awesome coffee with the coffe press and makes it just as fast as the Keurig.

I will post results from the trip and reviews on the equipment possibly in a couple of weeks, One of the guys I work EMS with is trying to get me to go with the Boyscouts next weekend.

What should really make you weep and your back scream to you is...

One weeks worth of gear and food in the pack is 34.7 pounds total weight. Not a had amount of weight to carry.

Wha wha what!?!?! Blasphemy! You cannot be serious....a rucksack doesn't have to weigh 100+ pounds? Never believe it.

Great purchases. Be careful with your water filter. Take it out and try it a few times. We used the same model in the mountains of NE AFGHN a few years and had some problems with keeping them clean. I am sure we abused the shit out of them alot more than you will though. I recommend you try it out a few times and get used to the operation before you take it on your trip. Have a blast!!!!!

Osprey makes some awesome gear. Glad you picked out some quality rucks that will last you a long time.

Everything else looks great and i hope you have a great trip with your 6.

I really looked hard at the Osprey compared to GoLite and a few others. Decided to sacrifice some weight for the durability the rest are high quality but osprey seemed more durable.

The first need filter was a trick to use at first once you understand how to back flush it seems ok. It really was a toss up between it and the MSR but it filters better giving up the ability to clean and service in the field. There is no one good piece of equipment and when you gain something you give something else up.

Great points bro. You will get a ton of years out of the Osprey Bags..

I use this badboy for travel from Osprey because you can seperate it into a backpack and luggage to take them both as a carry on,,when you land, you snap them back together and good to go...I had a small tear in it, told Osprey and they gave me a new one no questions asked...Standup company for sure!
