And yes that is what I zeroed in on in that post. I'm not going to be there to see wet t-shirt boobies, so I'm not trying to talk her into it. Bwahahahahahahaha

Obviously, common supplies will be necessary, such as camp stoves/griddles, coffee maker, pans and pots, utensils, coolers, ice, etc.
Among the individual supplies I'd recommend 1 case of bottled water per participant, Gatorade, snacks/granola bars/MRE.
One idea was floating around was a waffle/pancake easy mixes (adding water only): could be excellent for breakfasts".

I just sent this out to RH, because I had told him that I was unable to get in touch with the folks at the skydive place. After thinking about it, I thought I ought to spread this info for anyone else going, so Fred, please forgive me for sharing my PM to you (most of it, anyway.) And thanks to you and Paul for organizing this.

I just (3 hrs ago) returned from breakfast with my favorite old farts, MSG (ret) Herman "Snake" Spencer and MSG (ret) Ed "Fast Eddie" Fisler; both retired from careers in SF. Herman will be 80 this year, and Ed will be 77. Herman got his first Silver Star with 5th Gp in one of his early tours in VN, and his second on the Son Tay raid. Needless to say, it was a great (even Memorable) breakfast. But not related to the TFJ, so...

I got home at 1030 hrs, and no sooner had I sat down when the phone rang. It was the girl from Skydive Houston, all is copacetic now. They obviously close up the shop when jumping weather is good. Oh Well...

I got my questions answered (I was wondering if I'd be OK with athaletic shoes since I no longer own a pair of boots) and what the camping situation would be. (Answers: Yes, and not much - as in, they have a level area for tents in their parking area - in the way of facilities. I expect that we'll be able to find an electrical outlet, but not much else.

    Excellent Intel to share, Gatorojo.

I hope all you Hillbillys are getting stoked for this event,
got yourself manifested by calling SkyDive Houston, packed your D bag,
and are sitting on the green ramp.

We'll make this one the best TFJ yet !

    Present.

Unfortunately, my situation has changes since I signed on for this jump. Mainly, my Transport has drastically shrunk, as in from a large capacity SUV to a two-door hatch. So I have to downsize what I'm bringing.

I'm bringing my tent and sleeping gear, and two bag chairs( - and probably my Bro' in Law to occupy the second one.)

12" Lodge Cast Iron skillet w/id
10" Lodge Cast Iron Dutch oven w/lid

    Coleman Camp table

2 ea lanterns (one LED, bright, but sucks at illuminating areas, 1 9v multipurpose lantern)

    Entertainment gear:
Video projector (plays regular DVDs and CDs)
    Elec cordage for same
Speakers for same (I think these will play music from an iPod or iPhone)
my iPhone with a bunch of music that may or may not suck...

Water and beer. I'm not sure whether I'll have room for a cooler or not - don't plan on me having one, but I'll try.

I'm not going to bring food, mostly I'll be living on Equate +, which is my normal diet for the most part these days.

Attendees, please take note and plan accordingly.

I'm going to arrive Eagle Lake airpatch on Thurs, scope out the Jump facility, grab a motel in Eagle Lake for that night, go back to Houston to meet a guy from another list and have diner with him and his family before returning to Eagle lake for the night, and arrive back at the Airpatch around noon Friday.

Y'all don't buy a bunch of meats. There is a quality butcher in the AO and we can take care of anything after breakfast on Saturday.

Im bringing a 12 man tent, a cooler, some asst booze, and spices as needed. Anyone willing to cook is welcome to take over but in a pinch I can feed drunks passably well or we can share the load.

Will we be able to pick up some good Boudain for the coonasses amongst us??

    (for you non-Texans/Louisianans - coonasses=cajuns....just so I don't get in trouble )

I dunno about Boudain. I like it too, but don't recall it being there. Easy to miss it when looking at all the other fresh meat.
