Things are winding down.... Left Zimmy, Gatorojo, and Bell to burn down the fire and I went to the Notell for some shut eye... Exhausted from three hours of mosquito infested sleep last night. Breakfast in the morning and that's all she wrote. I had a blast and looking forward to the next one. Next one, I have decided I want to jump For real.

Just got back home. It's been a long week for me. A trip to Kansas and then one to the Fun Jump.

The Kansas thing is done. Ya'll mighta heard the door slam as I drove outta Kansas. The Fun Jump was interesting. Got drunk, watched the gals, got drunk, partied with wild people, got drunk, watched about 100 jumpers in 2 days get it on.

Told stories and listened to some fantastic stories. Laughed, got drunk, laughed some more, got drunker and watched a lady walk into more verbal traps than anyone I've seen in recent history.

Met a true warrior and outstanding man. I'm so glad I got to meet you Gatorojo and wish you all the luck in the world on your travels. All the best

Met another interesting fella that goes a lot deeper into life and explanations than I ever will. Doug, it was interesting and I hope it all works out for ya.

Then there was Cal and Zimmy. What to say? I always enjoy their company and for those of you that like looking at pics and talking shit....you don't know what you're missing if you don't go to one of these things.

Then the Lady. CB, it was funny. You kept wading off into deep water every other sentence. I laughed the whole time.

If they had static line jumps I'd probably have done one. Don't think I'd like freefalling attached to someone. Maybe next year. But damn, that thing is expensive.

    I second that!

    Doug - love the debates

    They are "interesting", aren't they

Seriously, though - very good company - and, Bell, good company, as always!

Then the Lady. CB, it was funny. You kept wading off into deep water every other sentence. I laughed the whole time.
They are only verbal traps because all of your minds perpetually live in the gutter!!!

Next year, I've decided, I want my first jump to be the sunset jump - I was watching that and it looked AMAZING!!!

The RAW (or naked for VB) files & videos are downloaded - I have to run to a board meeting at church, but will begin editing - should have some pictures and a TFJ Movie by the end of the week.

I made it home about 50 min ago. Easier drive back than out, but the ride out wasn't bad at all. 600 miles, 8 hrs 43 min on the road, including one fuel stop.

Got stopped just on the east side of Houston on I-10, (74 in a 65) but the incredible Mojo from hanging with Bell and Zimmy (two of the finest guys that ever strapped on a parachute) for three glorious days, not to mention hanging with our brothers CAL and DOUG, worked its magic and turned the stop into a pleasant conversation about old Paratroopers (well, I'm old, and Bell's working on it,) and why some of us old farts have no desire to do ANYTHING that involves some dude humpin' us out the door of an aircraft (or anything else, for that matter,) and shortly, I was on my way homeward bound again with a friendly written warming from the great state of Texas to moderate my velocity.

I apologized for my misbehavior, thanked the friendly Officer and was on my way.

I know that I speak for my brothers when I say that we all missed and worried about Hardcore Harry and mphellon; and when we heard later why mphellon missed the event, we all, including cb88, pray that everything works out for his family!

Likewise, HH, if you're reading this, we really missed you brother; you and I joined within days of each other, and being both RedLegs, I personally was truly looking forward to shaking your hand. I'm sorry it didn't work out, and I sincerely pray it's nothing serious!

Bell and Zimmy, nothing I can say that I haven't already said. You, my brothers, are very special special men. God damn, you men make me proud to be a paratrooper and be a member of this wonderful brotherhood. And that gives me the opportunity to say a special thanks to our brother CAL, without whose vision and action on that vision has given us all the chance to meet in the flesh.

Special thanks also to RH and Sgt.Raven for their hard work behind the scenes to make this gathering happen. Truth be told, small gatherings like this turned out to be, give more time to get to know each other more in depth. In any event, from my perspective, it was a TOTAL success! My thanks and kudos for a job well done. And you guys didn't even get to reap the benefits! That's brotherhood in action! Thank you, brothers!

ETA: And thanks to cb88 for being there to take photographic evidence that the event happened, that DOUG popped his cherry, and teaching us that cookies can be cooked on the dashboard of a car. Thanks Vicky, it was very nice to meet you!

The pleasure was ALL mine - and I sincerely mean that.

PS .... next time I need to put the dashboard cookies on in the morning so they have adequate time to bake
(CAL, you were right, my math sucks...should have been about 4 hours LOL)
