1GB video card... are you building the Mac-enstein for something specific or just for the heck of it?

Charlie, I am actually building it for fun..I wanted to buy a Mac but it's just too much money for a laptop/desktop. This way I get to build my machine and then it gives me the mac and a parallel Windows system on the same desktop....I really hope it works out.

Does it have a hemi? Judging by the second picture on the second set it looks like it has a 4 barrel carb in it.

Want to see pictures of the completed case, you got a lot of wires to hide/route neatly

Will be picking up my MAC OS Snow Leopard today and should be booting it up tonight after I get home.

I came really close to doing this when I was trying to figure out a quick and painless way to edit AVCHD high def camcorder files. Fortunately I did find a way to do it but in the process I bought a used small form factor pc from a friend that now sits under my desk doing nothing (like Dark does sometimes).

I'd also be interested in a "do-it-yerself y'all" write up if you get around to it.

I've built several PCs but not a Mac-based box. It's always better to build than buy, even if you don't know shit when you start. You learn about these boxes by building one...

Built my own back in 2003. Still running. Been through a power pack, some fans, video card and motherboard. Still plunking along. It used to be a screamer on the gaming sites but dual processors and tigabyte everything put me way out in left field.

Okay after a minor setback, The Motherboard did not support my i3 Chipset, Zipped back to the Shop where I purchased my equipment they actually tried to call me Saturday( after we left) to let me know that the board in the box was not correct and would not work, at least they called and tried to let me know, I didn't think the chip would fit so I did not try and force it ( Thank God). Once I got to the shop they said we have 2 options spent $100 bucks for an i5 Processor or Swap out the Motherboard for one that's the same price...They swapped out the Motherboard for me(which they didn't have to do). So in the next day or so I'll have my Copy of Snow Leopard and see how it goes. I have also taken a keen interest in cable management it looks a TON better now. I'll grab a picture or two and I'll take a few during the install process and try to write it up in a manageable/readable format.

Update: After another issue this time with my power supply ( which local Shop replaced with no problem) I have powered up and started the install process
