Okay after much trial and error ( a lot more error) I have finally gotten to 10.6.8 the final Snow Leopard version, there have been some reports of loss of Ethernet connectivity which I am currently experiencing and USB port problems I am working to resolve them at this time...The Graphics card is smokin hot and the screen shot does not do it justice...but I have some more terminal work to do so I can get the last 2 issues corrected. I'll keep you posted on the progress...

    Final update 10.6.8

Well, good news after some minor tweaks to the OS using a slick little program called Multi-Beast from Tonymacx86's Forum I was able to load the correct kext file for my usb ports and my ethernet is working. I am posting from a Full Updated Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8. So until I have the balls to upgrade to Lion OS X 10.7 I'm holding what I've got for now.

Thanks for putting up with me and my ranting about this Nerd-gasm

Okay final tally on cost and equipment, I returned my original Motherboard and Video Card and got something that I knew worked ( compatible) with the MAC 10.6.8 Snow Leopard so it pushed my final cost to $529.00.

There is a fantastic forum called Tonymacx86 that provides updates and how to guides and if you plan to tackle this project I suggest that you invest some time in reviewing Tony-mac's forum, it can save you time and effort in building your own Hackintosh.

    Final cost

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100@ 3.10GHz $100.00 (On sale open box) reg $159.00
Motherboard (GA H67MA-USB3-U3) $94.00 (saved $20 bucks on this instead of Intel MB that I returned)
AMD Radeon HD6670 1Gb DDR3 $90.00 (same price as original video card I returned)
    4Gb RAMDDR3 1333mHz had on hand
    1Tb Western Digital HD $80.00
LG DVD/CD dual Layer DVD $12.00
ATX Micro Case ( Cooler Master) $29.00
Mac OS X:Snow Leopard retail DVD $124.00
And iLife and iWork Included with OS
    ===============================================
    Total Cost $529.00

As a side note for this amount of money it's a Cheap alternative to the Mac Pro G5 which runs about 2.5-5k which a substantial savings but it's full of headaches and trial and error. You can almost get a Mac mini for this price they start at $599.00 and have none of the hassle that a hands on project like this entails. If you just want it to work then buy a pre-built machine.

If you really are motivated to build one you can get a kick ass machine for a song, just be prepared for a little grunt work to get it to the Final version of Snow Leopard ( 10.6.8). I am going to wait for a bit to let LION (10.7) sit on the market for a while before I tackle that upgrade although there are some people on the Tonymacx86 site that have upgraded with no issues...

Quick update a buddy a work who has several Macs had an extra apple magic mouse and told me I could have it and he even had an extra bluetooth micro adapter. Told me to take it home and try it out to see if it works and it works like a champ, now it does take some getting used to but I think it's going to work out very well.
